    Description

We are an outgoing and adventurous young family of five (Garrett, Skye and our daughters Nyomie, Emma and Tayler) who own and operate a B&B in the heart of the Coast Mts in remote Bella Coola, BC. Canada. Our B&B is run out of an old historic fishing cannery that was built in the 1900's and is situated on the north side of the North Bentink arm across from the Bella Coola harbour so we are completely off the grid and run everything powered by our diesel generator. We have 164 acres of ocean front property that is boat access only with two private beaches, a small orchard, recreational garden, chickens and two dogs. ..

We operate from June to October and are closed in the winter time. Our B&B is very remote and isolated so we would prefer to have couples stay with us as there may be times where we are in town getting supplies and you will be at property on your own. We are very remote so those looking to get back to nature or disconnect from the fast pace of the city this is the place for you! We have a communal kitchen in our cook house which is were we will all eat with Bed and breakfast guest as well.

Garrett is very versatile in his jobs and skills and growing up as a Bella Coola local has given him lots of experience in the outdoors, if you are wanting to learn the inside skills for a Jack of all trades he is the best teacher around!

I am always wanting to pass on and learn more within the garden, food/ cooking, knitting, crocheting and outdoor activities as I spent a few years instructing at and outdoor adventure lodge on Vancouver Island. Kayaking, Rock climbing, skiing and soccer are my passions! ( as well as a good book every now and then!)

Volunteers would stay in our Apartment building attached the B&B bunk house when not rented out. This has two bedrooms, bathroom with claw foot bath tub, Living Room with small fire place, and Small kitchen stocked with bowls, plates, cutlery ect..
When booked out we have a two story apartment that has living room with fire, kitchen fully stocked, and two bedrooms, This place needs some drywall work in one bedroom and some TLC in the Bathroom and is not connected to the Power grid as some new wiring has to be done so would be lit by kerosene lantern at night. The bedroom that is good to go has one Double bed, dresser and closet.

There are many of activities to do here for those with the edge for adventure from hiking on our property and throughout the Bella Coola Valley and when we have a bit of time to spare Garrett or Nyomie and I would love to show you around and give a locals insight to the valley. There is river fishing on our property from August to September and in the Bella Coola Valley from June to Sept ( you will need a licence that can be purchased in town). Kayaking on the ocean from our private beach or renting seaworthy kayaks from a local outfitter where you can also get bikes, canoe's and camping gear. There are also a few Mt. biking trails within the Valley and a few Rock Climbing locations.
There are also lots of local events and festivals. There is the Rodeo in the end of June, The Music Festival in July and the Fall Fair in September. We have two Grocery stores and one organic foods store as well as a few coffee shops and gift stores. There is a local bus service but you do need to give them advanced notice to arrange for rides.
For those with the photography bug the inspiration is endless through out the valley! Bella Coola is also renowned for Bear Viewing and other wildlife!
