    Description

Hi everyone :) we are Silvia & Gabriele, a 62 years old couple, half Swiss and half Italian. Since our daughters grew up and left for their own paths, we now live alone in a big traditional Italian farmhouse in the stunning Chianti area, the countryside close to Florence.

We can offer meals and accomodation in our house to who'd like to come here: a private room with a view and shared bathroom and kitchen. Our home is surrounded by a large garden with a small pool, olive trees, vegetables and other ornamental and aromatic plants.

We also have some animals: turtles, cats and a henhouse with chickens and ducks where we take the eggs from. Please note that from our house to the next village (Montespertoli) there are 7.5 km and there are no bus/trains to get there, so we recommend to come here with your own car to be more independent. Anyway we are also available to give you a lift to Montespertoli (where you can catch a bus to Florence or other destinations), so don't worry, you'll still be able to travel around a bit ;)

Bringing your own car would make it easier but there are other options! We could also borrow you a bike.
Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!
    See you soon, Xx

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

As a mixed couple, we really like to learn about different cultures, languages and traditions. We also love to show you the surrounding area and teaching you about Italian and Swiss culture and food (we have a pizza oven that Gabriele uses both for bread and pizza). We love nature and walking in the mountains. Silvia also plays trumpet in a cultural association and she's generally very social active in the community.
