Description
Hello Workawayers,
My name is Angie. I’m 50 years old with a real zest for life and a passion for creating a warm, vibrant, and welcoming home. I share my space with two senior gentleman cats who love their snuggles and bring a calm, affectionate presence to the home.
My home is cosy, colourful, and filled with warmth, love, and creativity. I’m currently semi-retired, occasionally doing dog grooming from home, and also working part-time as a pastry chef in Springwood.
While my indoor space is well-loved and lived in, my garden and outdoor areas are where I especially need help. I have several ongoing projects that need attention, starting with clearing and weeding, followed by planting and bringing the garden back to life. I also have some general home maintenance, simple repairs, and a few creative hands-on projects around the house.
I’m hoping to welcome couples or female travellers who enjoy practical outdoor work, don’t mind getting their hands dirty, and would like to be part of a relaxed and friendly home environment.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
I love cooking and have a background in baking and pastry work, so if you share an interest in food or cooking we will likely get along well. I also have a big soft spot for cats, so animal lovers are especially welcome.
I enjoy a good recipe exchange and love sharing ideas, flavours, and inspiration in the kitchen. I have travelled in the past and speak Japanese. Although I was born in Australia, my family background is Russian, Polish, and Greek, which has given me an appreciation for different cultures and ways of living.
I would describe myself as warm, nurturing, friendly, and easy-going, and I enjoy creating a comfortable, welcoming home environment where people feel at ease.
I also know many local walks, natural swimming holes, waterfalls, and good cafés and takeaway spots in the area, and I’m happy to share recommendations to help you explore and enjoy the Blue Mountains.
Help
Primary tasks focus on gardening and outdoor maintenance, especially clearing overgrown areas, weeding, mowing, and preparing garden beds for planting. This also includes building simple garden bed frames to help structure and improve the garden space.
General indoor tasks are light and shared, such as vacuuming and keeping common areas clean and tidy, as you would when living in a shared home, along with cleaning up after oneself to maintain a comfortable and respectful living environment.
Daily life also includes helping care for the home environment, including feeding my two senior cats who love attention and cuddles.
There is flexibility for creative or practical projects for those who enjoy improving spaces and bringing new ideas to life, especially in the garden and outdoor areas.
Bring your enthusiasm and willingness to help as we work together to create a comfortable, well-kept home and garden space.

Accommodation
Accommodation is in a comfortable private double bedroom within a small 3-bedroom home. It is a simple, cosy space designed for rest and privacy after a day in the garden, around the house, or out on an adventure exploring the beautiful Blue Mountains.
The room includes a double bed with clean linen, storage for your belongings, and a quiet space to relax.
Shared areas of the home are relaxed and welcoming, including the kitchen, bathroom, and living spaces. These are shared in a respectful and easy-going way, where everyone helps to keep things tidy and comfortable.
There is also a large outdoor deck area with seating, a dining table, a gas BBQ, and lounging chairs, offering a very relaxing outlook. It’s a lovely space to unwind, enjoy meals, and take in the peaceful surroundings.
The home has a warm, loving, colourful, lived-in feel with an artsy, relaxed atmosphere.
What else ...
Important note:
This is a home with cats. Two indoor–outdoor senior cats live here and are part of the household. They are friendly, affectionate, and love attention and cuddles.
As a lot of the work is outdoors, including gardening and yard maintenance, this placement may not be suitable for people with significant allergies or sensitivities.
I love cooking and am happy to accommodate all dietary requirements, so food preferences or restrictions are not a problem.
In terms of transport, having a car is ideal for getting around the area. However, if you don’t have one, Springwood Station is approximately a 30-minute walk from the home, and there is also a bus stop on the street that goes directly to the station if you prefer not to walk. I also travel up the mountains from time to time, and when I am available I’m happy to offer lifts to the station or drop-offs along the way if your destination is on route.
