    Description

Hello, we’re a family with Swiss-Mexican roots: Kaspar (Dad), 42, from Switzerland, and Tania (Mom), 32, from Mexico. Six months ago, we moved to southern Veracruz, in the Tuxtlas region, with our five children: Zarah, 16; Tzaek, 13; Tilo, 4; Cuma, 2; and Beat, 8 months.
Our dream is to live self-sufficiently, and we’re in the process of finding the land that will nourish us and that we will nourish, thereby sustaining this dream and ourselves. For now, we live in a small community in this region with our nine goats—Carpintera, Chula, Puwari, Venadita, Pari, Tutuyapa, Tunuwame, Emma, and Lili—who provide us with milk and cheese every day. We bake our own bread and prepare most of our food with our own hands, and we’d like to do more, but right now we need a couple more hands to keep this dream alive and achieve harmony in our daily lives while caring for our children and everything we have.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We live in a community with flowing rivers, just 15 minutes from beautiful beaches. There are countless nature reserves with waterfalls. The Sontecomapan lagoon and Catemaco are less than an hour away; these are the closest towns, though slightly more urban. However, it's important to know that this area still retains a rural feel. San Andrés and Santiago are also within an hour or two of the town, offering more social activities. With us, you can learn about goat herding and carpentry and blacksmithing skills.
