Description
Hello! We are a married couple, living on a beautiful farm in Neerim South, a lovely town on the way to Mt Baw Baw. Barrie is a retired lawyer and I was a journalist and we are active in town life. It has everything we need - a supermarket, post office, hotel, a butcher and a bakery. Since it is the last stop on the way to the snow, there are always lots of people passing through.
We love living here, and our property has a wonderful view of the water reservoir in the valley below our home. There are plenty of animals here - cows, birds, MANY wombats and a couple of naughty kittens. We have a large vegetable garden and a large shady garden, but struggle to have everything just as we would love it to be. -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We constantly have friends dropping in and family visiting, so this is a very busy household. We are both extremely interested in history, cultural exchange, and working things out together. Spending time with people from other cultures and learning from them keeps your brain active and keeps you young ... and that's our plan! We have plenty of experience with visitors arriving from other countries and our Christmas celebrations are multicultural - everyone seems to return to spend that time of year with us!
I also have experience in assisting students to improve their English and love to teach others new skills. Learning from others is also a treat.
We are also a mixed family. None of our three children fell in love with Australians! -
Help
We need assistance with just about everything you can imagine!
We are grandparents, but still run a working farm in beautiful Gippsland.
I have been told that I am a very good cook and our home is always full of great food, but outside, we need help with the vegetable garden, weeding, fixing fences and everything that goes into life on a farm. My husband, Barrie, works very hard, but he could really do with some assistance - not every task is a one person job!
I look after the vegetable garden, but again, help would be wonderful. -

Accommodation
We have two rooms available in our home. One is a twin share and the other is a Queen size bed.
Our home has a lovely fireplace.
We are night owls and tend to sit up chatting.
My husband is vegetarian, but I sometimes eat meat. I absolutely love cooking, preserving and pickling ... and having pudding every night is mandatory! -
