    Description

We, Lars and Kristin, have rebuilt an old house on a small scale farm. We have a daughter, Liv (born aug 23) and a cat named Marlon. We moved in last summer. We have started with a vegetable garden and some fruit and berry plants. We wish to build up a regenerative farm mainly for our own use, and build and a romantic place for children to grow up and friends from the cities to come and spend time. At the same time we want a relaxing life here combined with work outside of the farm. Kristin work in NAV, the norwegian welfare system. Lars is a social worker, working with young refugees. Liv is working on making fart-sounds with her mouth. All of us will be home during the period.

Lars, Kristin and Liv will all stay home during the stay and we will work together with the travellers for the whole period. And we are friendly, so hopefully we will have good talks and good laughs. Both Kristin and Lars have experience with living together with families in other countries. We have friends and family who often visit us, so the will be several opportunities to meet and talk with a diversity of Norwegian people. We will facilitate for travellers to explore the enviroment around us: The nearby mountain "Blefjell", the forest, Kongsberg city and history, and we are open for anykind of request. Mainly we will let the travellers get to know our familyl ife in our small farm in Kongsberg and Norway, with a vegetable garden and forest.

This year we are planning to scale up the garden and increase the vegetable garden, surround it with a fence, prepare a herb garden, set up a greenhouse, we wish to start up with hens and build a henhouse with a hengarden. We hope to finish these projects before June. We don't know how much work it is and how long it will take. If it's too much tasks, we manage what we can manage. If its too little we have other practical tasks like painting, wood cutting, building furniture or other projects the travellers wish to do.

    Accommodation

We live in a big house with two floors and two bathrooms. The travellers will sleep on the first floor and have their own bathroom close by. We have our bedroom and bathroom on the second floor. Outside we have a "stabbur" that we have used as an cabin for ourselves and guest. It's simple and cosy with a dobble bed, chairs and table. No electricity or water. The travellers can sleep where they prefer, and use the bedroom and the "stabbur" as they like.

We have a well-equipped kitchen with plenty of space to cook. Lars and Kristin both like to cook and are easy-going with the cooking, we think its best to plan together with the travellers how they prefer to do it: How much each of us would like to cook, what kind of food the travellers prefer and how often we eat together or seperately. At least once in a while we wish to use good time to prepare some great dinners, like a social and relaxing event. Anyway the kitchen is always open and it will always be availiable to take whatever you find, we wish to conform the travellers wishes.

Kristin is a vegetarian who once in a while eat some fish since she was pregnant, we mainly stick to a vegeterian diet but have no problems to buy in or cook meat if the travellers wish so.

    What else ...

We have good hiking opportunities from the farm, and a beautiful river close by where you can fish or take a refreashing norwegian spring-bath. It's 6 km to Kongsberg city, it's a nice trip with bicycle (that we offer). Kongsberg offers some typical citylife with restaurants, cafeterias, concerts, cinema, train station and shopping, in addition to that there is a charming old town with a beautiful old church, there are museums and tours connecting Kongsberg mining history. All sourrounded with beautiful nature. We have bikes available and will be helpful with driving.
