    Description

We are busy family of 5 (3 daughters aged 1,5,8), with small white dog, hairy black cat and few ducks and chicken. Michal Is working in innovations for municipality and local businesses, interested in couching and self-development. Zuzana is a psychologist and psychotherapist, currently working in prison. Loves some DIY, arts and craft and all things homemade. Girls are very curious and easy going, love books, lego and drawing. Living in the village in North Slovakia, surrounded by beautiful nature, we are trying to build a permaculture garden, live sustainable and cook without meat at home (occasionally some fish). During the season (March/April til October) we will be most grateful for helping around in the garden and around the house. October- February there is mainly housework, maybe some painting and DIY projects or helping around the kids. In exchange there is plenty to see- mountains, beautiful castles, cycling paths, but also culture to explore (e.g. independent art and music events and festivals nearby).

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We would like for you to become a part of our family, introduce you to our friends and relatives and show you our culture. We love to exchange our worldviews and experiences as well as recipes, go for a concert or local event together or just chill in the garden, depending on your preferences.
From specific skills we can teach you about herbs and soapmaking.
We did a lot of couchsurfing before and we love to learn about different ways of life, explore countries from the locals, not just from the surface. Let's call it "slow travel." And last, but not least, also teach our kids to be open, welcoming and to not be afraid of unknown and different. Listen to different languages, try to speak few new words and not care much about not understanding all.

  • Help

    Help

From spring to autumn there is plenty to do mainly in the garden- around poultry (changing bedding, water) and vegetable raised beds and berries as well, taking care of weeds, mulching... We prefer working together, share our experiences. Around house there is always jobs like cleaning windows, some painting and tidying up...with kids and animals there is never a dull moment. If you're more experienced we would appreciate some help with our permaculture vision or our projects as duck pond, sheep shed, rain garden or pavement around garden).
If you want, you can also help with kids, maybe take them for a bike ride or make some artwork together.
