    Description

Come join the farm team for a multicultural experience in beautiful Ireland. We are building a self-sustainable farm in the wild west of the Green Island and we would like to welcome you in our little village and show you this wonderful corner of the world. You will enjoy living on our farm and you will learn German and Irish ways and language spending time on the farm and know original Irish hospitality with lovely neighbours. What's more, Robert is a building engineer with a lot of experience and helping him restructuring the old cottage, you will learn all the tricks about working with timber and building in general. Robert is always happy to answer all your questions, even the philosophical ones ;)
There are a lot of beautiful places to visit here around, from quaint old churches, to national parks, cliffs and beaches. Plenty of activity in this area too: canoeing, horse riding, diving, trekking are just a few of the things this place has to offer. Not to mention the delicious food and cakes. Of course, Guinness and tea are everywhere.
We have a lot of animals walking around the farm and they all have a name as they are part of the family. You can become friends and enjoy their company too.
If you like to work with your hands, that would be an advantage. Two cats are in the house, and three dogs are running outside.
They all love to be cuddled.
We are looking forward to meet you :)

    Accommodation

Since we are building our house, we have only place for one other person on the farm yet. You will be living with Robert, sharing meals and helping him with building and caring for the zoo if you like. There are 2 cats living in the house and you will have to share your bed with at least one of them sometime :)
You will have your own room at night, but you have to share the bathroom during the day.
Internet is working fine, so feel free to bring your laptop/tablet. There are plenty of books as well: you can choose between English, German.

Please keep in mind that the farm is in the middle of nowhere, the village is about 3,5 Km away and to visit the nearby towns you will need to travel by bus or train.
You are welcome to use the mountain bike of the farm to explore the surrounding and reach the bus stop in town.
The neighbours will be happy to give you a lift as well if they meet you on the road :)

  • What else ...

    What else ...

The farm is situated between Westport and Achill Island, which both have plenty to offer for leisure activities. The farm is between two national parks, there's Croagh Patrick to climb, beaches to visit, historical sites and plenty actvities for the leisure time. There are busses going to Achill, Westport and Castlebar. From there are busses and trains to the rest of Ireland for a day off visiting towns like the beautiful Galway (about 1 hour away) and bike rentals for spins along the green way. You can book tours or join the local football or running clubs...or both. There is an angling club as well. Clare Island is a beautiful place to visit, and with some look, you will get to see dolfins and seals swimming along the boat.
