Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
A workawayer will benefit from a Cultural exchange whilst staying with me and my family. They will have plenty of time to visit cities like Medieval Kilkenny, Capital Dublin, and more. They will be able to experience Irish culture through music, food and fun activities. My parents live near by as well as my brother and sister and their families. You will meet my family and come and experience hurling matches where our whole community gather.
I look forward to engaging with you and to practice English, that's why I think volunteers should be from different countries as this will encourage you to speak in English, and through sharing conversations and knowledge we will learn each other's countries, cultures, languages abd experiences.
Kilkenny is a 15minute bus drive from my home, here you can visit this beautiful Medieval city, known for its vibrant art scene, hurling and rich in history. You can look up places to see like Kilkenny Castle, Medieval mile and museum, Brewing 'Smithwick's Experience'. We have beautiful craft and design shops, walking tours, cafes, and so much more. I am looking forward to hearing from you and your expectations. -
Help
Your morning will start at 8.30am Monday to Friday where you will have a set few tasks each day until 10.30, then next 3 hours will be projects like gardening, painting, picking apples, making relish when apples in season, building a run for Bella, organising a hen house, to be honest there is so much to do but you will be finished at 1.30 and free until next morning and off every weekend for exploration time. I will teach you some cooking skills, should you wish to learn. I don't cater for Vegans, or nut allergies, or gluten free diets, as this is a busy house. I will be happy to listen to all your ideas about all these projects.

As this is my first time to have workawayers I will free up two bedrooms, with double beds in each room and a shared shower room & WC. Also I am in the process of getting a lounge/library room ready for you where you will have your own TV, and WIFI Unfortunately I don't cater for Vegans, or nut allergies, or gluten free diets, as this is a busy house, I could not be 100% sure of nothing getting contaminated. Should you have any of these dietary requirements, you can shop locally for yourself, etc,
I will provide 3 meals a day. You will be welcome to prepare with me. I love to cook, I can't cater for food allergies, My favourite meal of the day is dinner, I will serve this at 6pm each day. Should I be away which someti.es occurs I will leave a prepared meal for you. Should you really hate any foods, please let me know on application. -
What else ...
All correspondence will be in English. Non smoking in the house.
Kilkenny is a beautiful medieval city, small and easy to get around. Cork, Dublin are a mere bus (1.5hrs) away for weekend breaks. Fabulous sessions in pubs all around Kilkenny city, a beautiful castle in the middle of the city, cinema, lovely cafe's and restaurants. I go swimming in the river about 3 times a week and you are welcome to join me. -
