    Description

Hi everyone and welcome, we are Tim and Jorge; two friends making our dreams come true by opening a hostel in the beautiful town of La Union, Valle del Cauca, Colombia. First let us introduce ourselves and let you know how we ended up in this area, and after we can tell you about the property, how to get here and what we are able to offer you. also please excuse us we are not writers, we are just two guys with dreams.

    TIM
Hola!! I am Tim. Born and raised in the Netherlands. Well, I learnt a lot of life lessons from my travels in the last 15 years, we are all alike, but do have some different views about different subjects around the world. In my former life, I was working for money to make new experiences, I never hated my jobs, but it was also not fulfill totally. The first couple of working years were in hospitality, I loved it. Working in a team with sometimes long hour days, but the smiling faces (from customers and team members) as a result were priceless.

After I finished my study I went traveling for a year in Southeast Asia and got a job offer at a hostel in Cambodia (epic experience). After a couple of months I left to do some small jobs in Australia, money was needed. Here I made up my mind to go back to The Netherlands and settle down and go for a job that fitted my study, Marketing. I worked 6 years for a company in sales/marketing, I learned a lot but it was not the kind of life I wanted to live. I had a couple of travels in south and Central America and fell in LOVE with Colombia. The friendly faces and vibrant culture! With some help of my beloved friends and family, I made the decision...Let's open a hostel in this beautiful country.

    JORGE
Que pasa soy Jorge un Colombiano, well let’s begin my story….I moved to the United States at the age of 16 to study, and ended up living there until just recently. After I finished my studies I went straight to work. I worked in a few different companies and big corporations doing sales, most of the time I rode a motorcycle to go around and make my business deals. I knew that riding a motorcycle was freedom and that’s why I still rode in the winter even on snowy days. Obviously I had the right gear and the motorcycle was prepared for it, I knew there was risk but the love for adrenaline and adventure was there.

Doing sales was great, but with the advice of one of my customers I decided to open my own property management company. I enjoyed working for the customers I had and the type of work I had created, it also allowed me much more time to travel than before. I love that I was learning about cultures, people, and languages.

In one of my trips Tim and I met, we were at a hostel during Feria de Cali where we started sharing our stories and some drinks too of course. We knew that we both liked adventure and having a good time, dancing was in us especially salsa or bachata. We continued our friendship and decided to meet up in different locations to travel and explore new horizons.
We ended up taking another trip in Colombia, but this time we did it on motorbikes. This trip consisted of 3 friends Tim, Eddo and myself. During the trip, we had no destination, no worries, no place to be, all we needed was to make sure we had gasoline in the bikes.

We talked about doing something new that allowed us to travel and continue to meet like-minded people, after several discussions we decided we wanted to open a hostel of our own. So that’s how we ended up here in La Union Valle del Cauca with our very own adventure hostel. We decided on this location because of the climate and the diversity so close by.

We would like to invite you on an adventure, come see where we live, enjoy nature, away from the tourist trail you’ll experience the beauty of Colombian people, the friendly finca (farm) lifestyle, the real Colombia.
