    Description

Our beautiful mountain homestead is situated on Mount Buchanan with views of Kootenay Lake and the Purcell Mountains. It is within walking distance of the village of Kaslo, a culturally rich and vibrant village of about 1000 people. There are infinite opportunities for outdoor recreation in the surrounding area. We have worked and lived on this homestead for nearly 30 years. There are two mature gardens, goats, chickens, cats and a dog.
I am a Waldorf teacher/educator and am passionate about working with children. I work off the homestead on three days per week.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

I am originally from Germany and have lived on this homestead for nearly 30 years. Kaslo is a vibrant little community which is most welcoming to folks from far and wide. I have raised a large family, homeschooling my five children and I have worked in education for over 30 years.
This homestead has been run in a sustainable, self sufficient way, supplying
fruits and vegetables, eggs, milk and milk products, meat and more for a family of seven for many years. Now the bounty of this beautiful place are shared with family, friends and the community.
I look forward to getting to know folks from around the world and to exchange skills and knowledge, as well as stories and songs.
