We run a fishing camp in Northern Norway, located on the countryside of north of Tromsø. The location is 3-4 hours by car from Tromsø, or 2 hours by speed ferry. The camp has been running for since 2010, and has a solid client base. We had a pause in 2023-2024, but are starting up again 2025. Clients mostly come from Finland, Estonia and UK. We provide accommodation to guests, boats, guiding and equipment. In general, clients are passionate about sports fishing, valuing the stay at the sea and the hunt for the big fish. However, also family groups arrive occasionally. A group usually stays for a whole week.
The camp is owned by a marine scientist / professional fisherman / business developer .
A Workawayer will interact with the guests, and the working language will be English. The location of the camp is at Arnøya Island (Lauksletta) in northern Norway. The Island has mountains, making it suitable for out door activities, hiking, bycycling and photo. It is surrounded by fjords and straits .
This is the land of the midnight sun, and the 24 hour sunlight will touch something deep inside of you.
This position is equally suited for girls and boys.
We are open from mid April till end of September.
Important: This area is a VERY QUIET community. We repeat: VERY QUIET. Guests are usually busy with their fishing during their week. If you do not like your own company, this is not the place for you. -

I spent three weeks there and I had a wonderful time. It is a nice and quiet place and if you can be on your own and like hiking and fishing it is the place to be for you. Ole and Siggi are very nice hosts. I did a lot of painting and gardening work and it was very varied.
In your freetime you can go hiking or blueberry picking.

I spent four weeks at this place and it was an excellent first Workaway experience. Keila, Petri and Ole are very friendly hosts, the apartment I stayed in was clean and contained everything I needed and the island of Arnøya is simply beautiful. Of course cleaning isn´t that fun all the time and - because it´s a fishing camp - you have … read more

Ole has always been very friendly and always makes sure you have everything you need.
The work itself was hard at times but the nature surrounding you only made it more rewarding.
All in all a wonderful experience of Northern Norway
