    Description

Welcome to our profile. We can't wait to connect with you :)

We are a nonprofit organization residing on 118 acres in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Our mission is to provide free healing/recreation to underserved youth and families in the Pikes Peak region. Our programs include weekend retreats, day trips, and internships. On our property we have high/low ropes courses, a small pond for kayaking, mountain biking trails, archery/tomahawk ranges, 15 cabins, and a plethora of beautiful tent/hammocking campsites. At the heart of our organization, we believe that all people deserve access to the healing power of nature. We are committed to making that healing space available to the vulnerable communities in our area. We'd love for you to bring your unique skills and to this mission. <3

    Ideal Volunteer:
We live and work in a small community secluded in the mountains! If you enjoy being immersed in nature AND living in community with others, this opportunity could be perfect for ya. Because we work directly with children, our screening and application process is more extensive than some other opportunities to ensure we keep our community safe.

    Application Process:
    - Send us a message on Workaway!
    - We will send you a short questionnaire to fill out.
    - Schedule a zoom call with our team to learn more and approve your stay.
    - Attend a virtual training 1-2 weeks before arrival.
    - Submit a $50 background check deposit (refunded upon completion of your stay)

    Sessions:
We will be hosting month-long sessions for volunteers throughout the summer. We ask that you commit to one of these sessions in full:
    - May 14 - June 9
    - June 11 - July 7
    - July 16 - August 11
    - August 13 - September 8

    Substance Use:
We are a substance free campus. No alcohol or drugs are permitted within the property limits, with the exception of nicotine products for those 21 and over in designated smoking areas. We work with many children and adults who are in recovery from substance abuse, so we take this rule very seriously. Thank you for understanding :)

    Transportation:
We are located about 1.5 hrs west of Colorado Springs. We can provide transportation from Colorado Springs to our property if arrival aligns with our pre-determined dates (arriving on a Thursday, departing on a Tuesday).

    Team Size:
Here's a breakdown of our on-site crew each month over the summer:
    - Executive Director (1): Tanner
    - Operations Director (1): Liz
    - Program Assistant (1): TBD
    - Intern (1-2): TBD
    - Volunteers (3-5)

Depending on availability, you will likely share a cabin with 1-2 other volunteers (each cabin has its own bathroom with shower).

    - While we do have WiFi, it has limited data. This means we can browse the web for work, but cannot stream video unless it is necessary. If your job requires streaming, uploading, or downloading video, we might not have the internet capacity to meet your needs. - We have plenty of parking space for vans, though the road to our property is too step/rugged for a bus/RV
