    Description

Hi, we are Emily & Mike, and we run a ski lodge.

We are situated within walking distance of 2 Resorts in the Hakuba Valley (Nagano Prefecture, Japan), and are surrounded by the woods & mountains.
Our lodge consists of 7 Rooms (sleeping up to 30 people), Bar & Restaurant, Movie Room, Dry Room and Spa.

The place attracts couples, families and large groups. It's a very cosy, friendly place to stay during the winter offering a relaxing social space with great food & wine. Having a wine or beer by the fireplace after a day out on the slopes really captures that winter lodge feel!

A simple cooked breakfast is provided to guests, dinner is also available for them each night. At times we also have outside guests book in for dinner.
Mike is the chef, and also a sourdough baker. He provides bread to cafes in the Hakuba Valley throughout the year.

We will open the lodge for the winter season from 24th December 2021, through end of March 2022.

    ***********

We would like you to stay from early to mid December.

We're looking for someone to join our kitchen team, and cook breakfast for our guests over the winter season.
Any kitchen experience is fine! We will train you and get you ready.
You'll be preparing mostly bacon & eggs, cooked greens, fruit & toast.

Due to COVID & current international travel restrictions, we welcome applicants that:
    - Reside in Japan;
    - Available to work with us for 3 months.

You must be comfortable working & living in the same place,
be bubbly and confident around our lodge guests,
be independent & comfortable managing your own free time,
and have a great sense of adventure!

As well as working in a humble boutique ski lodge, and providing guests with an unforgettable holiday experience, you'll get to ski/snowboard most days of the week. You'll immerse yourself in some of Japan's best powder snow. Cortina Ski Resort, one of the nine resorts in the Hakuba Valley receives the best snow and has some of the best terrain.

    You'll also receive:
    - Hourly pay
    - Accommodation on-site

We are looking for a breakfast cook.
Breakfast shifts will run from 6:00am ~ 11:00am (6 days per week).
    Hourly rate of ¥1,100

Any kitchen experience is fine! We will train you and get you ready.
You'll be preparing mostly bacon & eggs, cooked greens, fruit & toast.

There may be other opportunities to work with the evening kitchen team as well.

A valid drivers license is also valued.
As part of kitchen team you may need to drive into town to collect ingredients.

Due to COVID we're unsure on the hours involved and how many guests will be staying. As Japan is currently encouraging domestic travel, we expect to be busy most weekends, and quite possibly be quiet during the week.

We will aim to provide at least 25 hours of paid work per week.
The first 8 hours of work will go towards rent, then you'll be paid hourly after that.

You will be part of a relaxed team with a strong work ethic.
We're looking for someone with a good sense of humor, can manage their own time and confident with people.
