  • Description

We are a family. Michael (60), Kathy(59), Daniel(30), Lisa(27), Daniella (2), and Briella. We own a 23 hectare farm in the mountains of Costa Rica. We live in what they call the valley of the stars or "Valle de la Estrella". Our farm is very remote and our farm backs up to a jungle. We grow a lot of our food, fresh water from the mountain spring, milk daily from cows. The road up the mountain is rough, but the view of the valley is worth it. We have a dairy cow, sheep, chicken, a horse and tilapia on the farm.

  • Help

Our farm was designed to house about 15 people and with only 4 adults, we need a lot of help around the farm with daily tasks. We need help with cleaning of the 5 houses. Recently we have transitioned our farm to a cacao farm. Our plants are very young and need to be nurtured. Grounds keeping would consist of weed whacking and possible light machete work. We also do charity work when the opportunity arises. We donate a lot of our food and milk from the farm to locals. Just remember we are remote and don't travel to town often. We would also like people who are willing to stay for at least a month so we can have enough time to teach you things about Cost Rican living before you have to leave.

    What else ...

Volunteers can go to town on their time off and visit local beautiful beaches. On days we go to town, they may ride into town with us. There are taxis available, but are pricey. There is also a bus stop, but it is pretty far from the farm. Again, we are very remote and we don't go to town that often. Volunteers are also welcome to explore our farm land or go down to the river to swim.
