    Description

This is a beautiful small farm inside the national park of Peneda-Gerês, in the north of Portugal.
It’s a 7000m2 land with plenty of oak, chestnut, cork oak and other trees, with vine, passion fruit, oranges, pears, cherries and a few other fruits sparkling here and there, along a beautiful sunset view.
I’ve recently finished the repair of the house, so it’s now time to work the land and make all the ideas and projects that sprinkled along these last couple of years to come alive.

From planting the vegetable garden to prepare the water irrigation system, prunning the trees to building accesses to the main tank (aka swimming pool ;), prepare the veggies for the coming season, DIY the million things that this land needs, and so on… There’s no lack of things to do here, but it’s hard to call it work, as it’s so nice to go along with it **

There are a few waterfalls and small lakes around here, and the villages nearby are also quite nice and picturesque, so there’s a lot to see and experience in your free time. There are buses three times a day to the nearest town, so you can go and enjoy its bars and restaurants, or shopping if needed.

There is a comfortable private caravan with a double size bed, kitchen and toilet to lodge volunteers, so it’s possible to host 1 person at a time (or 2 people, if couple or friends).

This is a private farm, all the produced veggies and fruits are for our own consumption (and for donation to the elderly association of the village).

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

I'm currently developing a permaculture project for the vegetable garden, and have been learning a lot about it lately, but am very pleased to welcome volunteers with whom I can learn even more. Bio construction is also an area that interests me a lot, so if you have any of these skills be very welcome to stay here!

There is a comfortable private caravan with a double size bed, kitchen and toilet to lodge volunteers, so it’s possible to host 1 person at a time (or 2 people, if couple or friends).

Meals are mostly commonly shared and done at the main house in the property, although volunteers will be given food to cook/prepare in their private kitchen (in the caravan) if preferred. These include breakfast, lunch and dinner, with lots of delicious veggies from our garden, amongst other things. If you have any special needs regarding food please let us know, so we can arrange it for you.
