    Description

Hello, we are George and Virginie and we have a campsite in the beautiful mountainous region of the Cévennes in southern France. It is a vast place in a (still) wild part of France. The campsite is not particularly large (75 emplacements) but is very spread out on 150 hectares! It's practically wild camping.
We have different needs according to the seasons and we are looking for 1 or 2 workawayers also depending on the season. Workawayers need to have their own motorised transport. We have explained our seasonal needs below.
    --
    A little about us:
George is Scottish and Virginie is French. We lived in London for over 25 years and decided to leave London 19 years ago to settle in the middle of a wild lanscape running the campsite. It's a family business: George and myself (in our 50s), our 3 children (24-18yrs) altough they are not living on site at present. We are a bilingual family, speaking fluent French and English.

    About the site:
We are in an isolated situation at 900m alt, 3kms from nearest village (which has a shop) and 40 mins from nearest town of Millau (Aveyron, department 12). There is no public transport so having your own transport is ESSENTIAL (please do not reply if you don't have transport) .
We are in a semi-moutaineous area (900m alt) so you need too have good clothing is as it can get cold especially at night.
We hire workawayers in the High season (July and August), in the Mid-season, so Spring (March to mid-June orearly July) and the Autumn (September to mid/end of October) and sometimes in Winter (November-February). During the mid-season the work is maintenance/building projects, cleaning. There is not very much hospitality. In the Winter the work is only maintenance/building projects and there is no hospitality. In the High Season there is no maintenance/building work, and it's mostly cleaning, cooking in our snack and hospitality.
Our campsite is a nature destination. We rent accommodations and we have piches for tents, vans etc. In the High Season we also have a snack, the reception is opened with a small shop & the pool is opened.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We are looking for a workawayer who has experience in DIY to work with George who is also experienced so there will be an exchange of skills and tips. The workawayers will also learn about the touristic business which has many facets (many different jobs and skills), which is varied and hard work but very enjoyable: you are working in a beautiful environment and dealing with people who are on holiday! The tasks are varied and we are happy to exchange skills and tips with workawayers.

Workawayers will learn and discover rural France, a preserved natural landscape in the national park of the Cévennes. If you like the outdoors, there is much to do here. We are 1h30 from Montpellier and the Mediterranean, 2hrs from Nîmes, 3hrs from Clermont Ferrand and we will be happy to advise you where to go, what to do and what to see.

If you like nature and outdoor activities, calm and tranqulity you will love our site! There are many things to do from hiking, cycling, mountain biking, canooing, climbing, parapente, star gazing, via ferratta, potholling. We are isolated so you need to be HAPPY on your OWN, especially if you come alone.
The city of Montpellier is 1h30 mins. Millau is a very pleasant town and is 40 mins away. Millau is the nearest town but the local villages have shops, restaurants and a weekly market so you don't need to go too far to fill the fridge!
