    Description

We are an Indo-German-Family with four sons (16, 7, 5 and 0) living on the beautiful island Karimunjawa in Indonesia! I am Patricia (35) from Germany and my husband Eddy (44) is originally from Bandung, West Java. We also have 2 dogs living with us! We chose to live on this island to enable our children to live peacefully and connected with nature. Our boys are full of adventure spirit and have a lot of energy. They love to spend their time in water or in trees or with a ball. They are very open and easy to connect with.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

You will gain a deep insight into the Indonesian way of life, the local food and of course Indonesian and Javanese language. As a cross-cultural and cross-religious family, we can "open your eyes" for the local way of thinking. We are also happy to connect you to the NGO who is regularly running cultural events.

Teach German primary classes in paradise! On the island of Karimunjawa are living three German-Indonesian children (ages 7, 6, 5) who are looking for a passionate teacher to teach them math, writing and reading in German language. They attend the local school, where they learn Indonesian, Javanese and Arabic languages. They speak German fluently. They would also be very excited to learn guitar, piano or percussion. So, if you have experience in primary education and German is your mother tongue, then we are excited to hear from you! The classes would ideally be 2-3 hours per day after their local school (7-10:30am). The NGO on the island is focusing on nature-based education. It already has three Kindergarten classes running and is s about to open up a primary school for which your support could potentially also be helpful (i.e. teaching extracurricula classes or support them in developing the curricula).
