    Description

Come and join us up at the mountains where we are surrounded by oaks, pines, mullberries and more, listen to the songs of the birds and crickets, enjoy the company of chickens, cats, dogs and bees, get your hands muddy plastering walls and making seed balls :)

*** We are looking for people that can stay at least for a few weeks and be a part of the organisation of the work. We want to have a balanced division of labor and for you to be the responsible executer of your help. ***

Hello traveller! Welcome to our land. Following our years in a communal life in an ecovillage, we have recently moved as a couple to this beautiful village and we need hands and hearts to support us to build our house, garden walls/fences and outdoor leisure areas using hand tools.

We love being in the nature, working with our hands, making music, sharing our experiences and ideas about living in a collective, building a life that is respecting the world around us, creating spaces that nourish the people and the nature. We need to nourish our bodies and souls as well so we need help with cooking, artistic explorations, singing, moving our bodies, playing games and meditating. Also our old car needs some love and care, if you know about cars, she would appreciate it ;)

We mostly eat vegetarian (aside from occasional sustainably caught fish for omega3) it is okay if you are not, but vegetarian diet is what we support in our land, and we would be glad if you join us with that.

Main accomodation will be tents and camper vans while we are building the house. There is a room in the house we are renting right now so you can stay when it is too rainy or cold and you can shower there (yay hot water) as well. It is not available for long term accomodation since we live with our landlords and they prefer to have the place less crowded.

Every Wednesday we go downtown for shopping and socializing. The nearest town is 30kms away.

There are many similar minded people living in other villages that are closeby, that we meet, share, play and work together. We also have friends that are soon joining us in the village to bring a communal dream to life: Creating a large foodforest ecosystem and restoring the old school building to transform it into a cultural hub!

We love what we are doing here and we like to share what we know. We also encourage you to share what you bring with yourself. You can join activities like hugging, trekking, music jams, meditation, painting, yoga, mushroom hunting, gardening during your time off.

We are learning Italian and Swedish, so if you know either of them and interested in teaching we appreciate your contributions!

We love making music together, so if you have any instrument please bring whatever you have and join our jams :) We play trumpet and ukulele and we have some more instruments that you can try.

We also have some painting supplies and some art projects in hand (and mind) so bring your paints, brushes and skills with you if you can!

Depending on the season, weather and our motivation we make wine, beer, sour dough bread, water kefir. We can share what we know and we can ask you to help us with what we are doing.

We love hunting wild mushrooms, growing mushrooms. You can be part of these activities as well, of course all these activities are seasonal.

  • Help

    Help

Help us with building our home! Bring in your hands and your heart! There is a job for everyone and the more the merrier! :) You can bring your child and/or pet if you want, they are all welcome )as long as your pets are not interested in our chickens :))

    Main tasks:

Cooking - the most important task! Keeping everyone well fed and happy. We have a vegetarian and dairyfree diet so please be prepared to cook and eat in that way. We prefer not to have meat cooked, you can bring dairy products if you want. On Wednesdays in the town you can have your dose of meat if you really need it :)

Landscaping/Gardening - Cleaning vines, making fences, preparing and caring for the garden

Carpentry - Roof, floors, furniture, doors

Plumbing - Indoor water systems, vermicompost toilet system, outdoor toilet and plumbing

Masonry - Building brick walls, stone walls, roads etc.

Plaster - Dirt sifting, mixing, plastering

Car mechanics - Our car, a mitsubishi l-300 (her name is Bishi, not that creative but we love it ;)) needs some love and care, there are some rust spots on her hood and she have some minor mechanical issues (like the auto windows not working properly) and some bigger issues (one of the doors is not closing properly). So if you have any experience on working with vehicles, that would be more than welcomed.

Help is done on a voluntary basis so you can take time for yourself, we believe that the best work comes when you feel good :) That being said we wish our volunteers to share the workload so around 4-5 hours of help a day should be expected. During the summer time to avoid overheating, we start early in the morning around 8ish, eat some fruits and work till midday to take a break between 12:30 to 16:30 (eat and have some free time) and work again between 16:30 -19:30. If you don't want to be a part of building projects, you can help us with cooking or gardening or something else that we can decide together.

We have a small seed bank and we would be immensely happy if you bring your favourite plant's seeds to share with us. We can also share with you what we have :)

If you want to join us please contact us and provide your full name, date of arrival, your travel situation (due to COVID-19 we need to know your itinary and health situation) your skills/ interests and how long you plan to stay as far in advance as you can.
