Our farm organization is with 22 hectares. We built this farm permacultural standarts to serve our ideals of self-sufficiency, landscape conservation and revitalization of traditional handicraft.
Permaculture is a holistic way of weaving land, water, animals, plants and humans into a web that supports and synergetically serves each other. With this idea in mind and heart, we create an economy with renewable energy and sustainable usage of natural resources.
We are living here in a small community with dogs, cats, sheep, chicken and ducks.

You can get a look into german alternative ecological lifestyle and culture, living really close to the people (not touristic).
You can practice your language skills and also give us the opportunity of learning other languages.
Furthermore you can experience how we live together in a small community, how we care for the land (soil) and the living beings and also why we do it in this special way. For example: permaculture basics, improving soilfertility, mixed cultivation of vegetables, herbs and trees, how to obtain a yield and how to process it, caring for different animals and also meet other internationals guests. If you like doing handmade music on campfire, visit us :-)
We provide various tasks depending on the weather and the season as well as your own talents and wishes. For example: fruit gathering and garden care, choping firewood, prepare plant beds, renovate animal shelters, work in the forest (taking our dead wood out) and different kinds of construction work around the house
To be here is more than just "working". Its more like participating within the farms organism.
Usually workingtime is 5 hours a day but it depends on the season and the daily tasks. There can be hard work to do at times as well as some easier tasks.
Make sure to bring some workingclothes that can get dirty as well as working shoes that provide enough stability and safety, like hikingshoes.
We offer you food and accomodation for the whole time. You will live with us in a small community.
The accommodation is very simple, like a tent, caravan, barn or a room with matrasses on the floor.
It depends on the season and the number of guests (e.g. we have also 3 options with a stove,
for our guests in the cold season).
If you wish you can also sleep on special places like sheepshelter, trampolin, etc.
We all are using a communal bathroom, livingroom and kitchen together, with all food provided for everyone. In general, we eat a lot of the vegetables and fruits from the garden and fresh chicken egg. We use an outdoorspace for cooking, showering and composting toilets during summer. Different supermarkets are closeby.
Please take care of your basic needs like warm clothes and shoes, medicine, etc.
Generally you can use our Wifi but it depends on the seasonal situation and could perhaps be limited.
With bicycles, you can go on excursions to a nearby lake or into the beautiful nature that surrounds the farm.
Big citys next to the farm are "Görlitz" ( traveltime 1 h), "Dresden" (2 h) or "Berlin" (3 h).
How can you get to us?
Jänkendorf is situated very close to the Polish border. The nearest bigger towns are Görlitz (approx. 25 km) and Bautzen (30 km).
Take the train to Niesky. Check out trains to Niesky from Berlin or Dresden, they run quite regularly. Niesky is only 4 km away from us. Please write an email to us in advance, so that we can plan when to pick you up in Niesky.
Alternatively, you may give us a call when you arrive at the station, we will pick you up as soon as possible.
For train connections: check the website of German Railways (Deutsche Bahn AG):
a. On this website you can search in many different languages.
b. If you click on “Advanced search”, you will also find the option to enter the address of your destination.
c.. If you do an advanced search, you will not only find out the train connection to the last train station, but also how to continue further from the station to your camp address (with local buses, trams or on foot with a detailed map).
