  Description

  My name is Dai. At the moment, I'm living on Cat Ba Island which is the most beautiful island in northern Vietnam. I own a homestay located 10 km away from Cat Ba town. This is the house of my cousin. We innovated the house to turn it into a bungalow accommodation. Currently, my family is living at the site.
  
  I have been working in tourism for more than 5 years and I love it. I have been a manager of many accommodations in The North Region of Vietnam so having a homestay is a dream of mine. Tourism is perfect for culture exchange and getting to know each other better.
  
  The idea of getting volunteers came up to me when I realized that the homestay needs people who understand my guest's cultures and mindsets so we will have better service in order to comfort our guests. Furthermore, I'm keen on protecting the environment and doing something with recycling. I have no idea what to do. It will be better when a volunteer comes and help us with that in order to turn it into real life.
  
  Apart from the help, Volunteers will have a chance to live in one of the best destinations in Vietnam as well as experience Vietnamese culture with a closer look. You will live with us at the homestay, live in real Vietnamese life.

  Living in a real Vietnamese family is interesting and unforgetable. You will have a chance to live in real Vietnamese life, work with us and have fun with us. We live at the place as a family so you will be another family member of ours. That is the experience you'd never have when traveling as a tourist.
  
  We also want to learn more about other cultures so meeting volunteers here is a great oppoturnity for us to have better understanding others. The more cultural understanding, the better life and service we will have.
  
  Besides, the homestay is located on one of the most beautiful islands in Vietnam giving volunteers to get around and enjoy the beauty of the island as well as experience excursions here.

  Help

  I need some help with gardening, reception, and general maintenance jobs at the homestay. You are supposed to help guests with check-in - check out, give the house rule, and local information to guests. I also have a garden so a gardening job is required during working time.
  
  If you used to work or have worked in sales, or social media, that are valid and acceptable. Speaking English fluently is essential. If you speak other languages, that will be a huge advantage.
  
  You are supposed to do the volunteer job for 4 -5 hours, 5 days a week. The job is mostly taking photos and taking care of the homestay social media channels. However, there are a few tasks you can help us with such as
  
  - help with the reception.
  
  - helping guests when they needed
  
  - helping around the house.
  
  For taking photos, you can either do with your phone or your camera. I have a certain requirement for photo quality so you can consider doing so.
  
  The day will be in shifts where you can choose a shift. That gives you more freedom to manage your plan whilst you are here. You will work 4 -5 hours, 5 days a week. The working days are at your discretion or when its busy at the homestay no matter Saturday or Sunday.
  
  Volunteers will be provided 3 meals and accommodation at the homestay. You can also have a scooter to get around for free.
  
  Volunteers will have a chance to get excursions such as boat trip, trekking, motorbike tour for taking photos during their stay here. The excursions are boat trips, trekking, kayaking, staying overnight in a floating house, etc.

  Accommodation

  The accommodation is a dorm. Each volunteer will have their own bed. The bathroom is a general where volunteers can use. Make sure that you bring your own bathing items and your own towels.
  
  Food will be provided in the kitchen. As we serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner to guests, Volunteers can have the same food we serve here.
  
  You can have breakfast in a certain period during the morning (7 am - 9:30 am). We will have a meal after the serving time for dinner and lunch at the homestay.

  What else ...

  In your free time, you can take a scooter to travel around Cat Ba island. The nearest beach is 200m away from the homestay, that is also a good place for relaxing. Otherwise, you can simply relax in the garden of the homestay.
  
  We also have connections with excursion operators. You can have free excursions in your days off. Let me know when you'd like to do it. We will arrange it for you.
