Our center is a place where people aim to embody different aspects of unity. Through a continuous daily program of spiritual living, it offers a home to temporarily as well as long term visitors or residents. We function as a retreat center and school for holistic healing practices, including meditation, yoga, sound healing and sacred music. Next to these activities, we are a 'school of life' that offers her fruits and lessons through the connection that is created with each other through daily living. We work in the spirit of Karma Yoga, which can be freely translated as Love in action.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
You will be able to join very regular yoga, sound healing and meditation workshops/classes and deepen your daily personal practice if you like. Further, you can get inspired, learn from (and as well contribute to) our cooking and gardening skills. Community living involves learning from each other and every situation. We are an international community and it is highly encouraged to exchange knowledge and skills on many levels as well as maintaining an open communication towards eah other.
We are looking for people who want to live in a spiritual oriented community to help us in our non-profit retreat center. Help will involve vegan cooking, cleaning, house keeping and maintaining, gardening, (optional) teaching yoga or yoga-related workshops, welcoming guests, occasionally construction,... You might work both in a team as on your own at times. The minimum age is 25 years old.
There is a minimum stay of 2 months, although there is the possibility to extend your stay if the cooperation is going smoothly . If there are unexpected changes in the team, we might host someone for a shorter period of time, but this is rather exceptional. We have limeted volunteer spaces (3 to 6) available and receive a lot of requests. People who can commit for a minimum of 2 months always get our preference.
You will be staying inside the old monastery building with all the guests and staff. The house is very spacious and has a beautiful living room and big workshop/meditation hall. You will be sleeping in one of the rooms, mostly shared with 1 or 2 other volunteers.
The food is for free for all volunteers and will be offered as well to guests and students who are attending our workshops or retreats.
What else ...
We are located in Heks, Limburg, Belgium. We are surrounded by an old castle, many trees, fields, orchards and historical buildings. In your free time you can visit as well the Roman ruines in Tongeren or other prehistorical and medieval sites. In about 45 min. drive by car you can visit the Ardennes with its many forests, water springs, rivers, idyllic villages,etc... Brussels and Antwerp are both 1 hour from the center (by car).
Our castle style small village offers only a few commodities. We have a small café, a very delicious baker. Mostly this place is appreciated for its natural beauty, the old history and buildings and its peaceful setting that accommodates an inward harmony.
You can reach us by taking the train to Tongeren. You can get to Tongeren very easy, in less then 1.5hour from Brussels and Antwerp. In Tongeren we can pick you up from the train station (15min away). We also have a bus connection that stops right in front of our door, but it does not run very regular.

I have improved my ability to cook vegan food and I have shared this time with other amazing volunteers. We have enough time to join the daily workshop (always different - food for thought!).
