Description
We moved onto this small 2 acres parcel 1.5 years ago and we are still getting things established with our vision of a small hobby farm (mostly building soil with the help of horses at the moment) where we are beginning to host Indigenous cultural and craft workshops as well as leadership retreats.
I am a retreat host and also work in impact investing, my partner is a a fashion designer, we are both entrepreneurs and our sons are in school. We have a 3 year old labradoodle dog, horses and lots of extended family and friend live near by and come to stay.Types of help and learning opportunities

We host Indigenous hide-tanning workshops and cultural craft camps a couple times per year as well as animal communication, meditation, yoga and small skill share workshops. In addition to experiencing the culture of the small beach side town on the Sunshine Coast, there are opportunities to learn from First Nations knowledge keepers about the local lands, forest and waterways.
There are horseback riding lessons happening sometimes on the property and dogs and children.Projects involving children

We have a large wall tent in the forest with a wood burning stove and adjacent indoor cook cabin and washhouse which includes sink with hot water, mini-fridge, counter top convection oven, an outdoor BBQ, an electric composting toilet and outdoor shower and bathtub in the forest overlooking the creek.
Across the creek there is a small hobby farm which has chickens, pigs, sheep and turkeys so you get the expected animal noises over the sound of the rushing water. Earplugs if you're a light sleeper are highly recommended. Depending on the timing and duration of stay we can share meals in the main house or we can share some meals and you can prepare meals yourself in the cook cabin. I can provide groceries. What else ...
We live in paradise in the temperate rainforest, on the side of mountain 5 minutes from the Pacific ocean and many beaches. There is a public transit bus route a 10 minute walk away and would class hiking and mountain biking trails from the foot of our quiet street. Besides obviously horse activities, in the summer months there is every water sport, kayaking, swimming, fishing, stand-up paddle-boarding, even kite surfing when the wind is right. We are a 50 journey (including a ferry ride) from Vancouver and easy access to Squamish and Whistler in the winter months.
Our community has a rich arts and culture scene with many opportunites to see live music, theatre, farmers and artisan markets. We are a small warm family who enjoys hosting guests and spending time outside and we like to entertain, hosting bonfires and dinner parties.A little more information
