Description
I'm an artist, poet, yogi, and perpetual student of life. I live oceanfront on the Mexican coast with my kid, our dog, and our cat. A local landscaper comes twice a week. That's the household.
The location is extraordinary. The ocean is right there, not a short walk, not a view from a window, but right there. Surfing, swimming, and watching sea turtles nest at night. The wildlife here stops you in your tracks if you let it.
I value simplicity, curiosity, and people who can take care of themselves. I'm creative and active, and I like my space. The right person here won't need to be entertained — they'll find plenty in the waves, the markets, the local culture, and the quiet.
This part of Mexico has deep roots, history, tradition, food, and a pace of life that's hard to find anywhere else. I've chosen to live here intentionally, and I appreciate people who understand what that means.
If you're self-directed, respectful of nature, comfortable around a young child and animals, and genuinely curious about the world, you'll feel at home here.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We live in this town, not just in this house. I know the neighbors, the vendors, the people who gather on the beach in the evenings. You'll be dropped into a real community fast — taking my daughter to her activities and the community center is part of the weekly rhythm, and that alone will introduce you to people.
I speak Spanish, Finnish, Swedish, and English. I cook from scratch, and I garden. If you want to learn any of it as we go, I'm open to that.
What I'm looking for beyond the tasks is real company. Another adult in my daughter's and my life. Someone who shows up fully and is genuinely curious about the world — because so are we.

Help
My daughter is five, and she will want your attention — for real. Getting down on the floor, reading the same book three times, walking to the market together, and eating the lunch you made her. Alongside that, you'll keep the house tidy, do laundry, and handle grocery runs. The tasks are simple. What they actually ask of you is warmth and consistency.
I paint, write, practice yoga, and read everything I can get my hands on. If any of that sparks something in you, that conversation will happen on its own. I won't make it a program, but I won't close the door on it either.

Accommodation
You'll be staying in a private casita, your own self-contained space, not a room in a shared house (entry is through the main house though, we live indoors and outdoors).
King bed, private bathroom, and a full panoramic view of the ocean.
The home sits on a private beach (when the tide is low enough, though the dolphins are there regardless).
You have full access to the main house, the kitchen stocked with basics, a living room, and a library with a wide range of books collected with genuine taste and curiosity. Come and go as you like. The casita is your retreat, the main house is there when you want company or a good read.
Laundry, a pool, and parking are included.
What else ...
This coastline rewards people who get out and move through it. Surf breaks, fishing villages, jungle trails, markets — most of it is best reached on your own wheels.
A motorbike or scooter is ideal and will open everything up. For grocery runs and dropping my daughter off at her activities, you're welcome to use my car.
The nearest town is about 45 minutes to an hour on foot through lush jungle, a walk that is genuinely beautiful if you're in the mood for it. For everything else, your own transport makes life easier.
On screens: there is no wifi in the house. This is not an oversight. Living oceanfront in Mexico with a library, a private beach, and a pool has a way of making the internet feel beside the point. If you've been meaning to read more, think more, sleep better, and actually be somewhere, this will do that for you. Data is available if you need it for essentials.
The house is substance-free — no alcohol or drugs. That's a firm line, not a suggestion.
Beyond that, the rhythm here is relaxed. We intend to have a good routine, no schedule (besides a couple of my daughter's classes).
