    Description

We are a family of three, with a one-year-old baby, and we share our daily lives with our dog, a two-year-old Jack Russell, who is very affectionate and full of energy. We live in a very quiet rural area, surrounded by nature, but only a 10-minute drive from Vilafranca del Penedès, the main town in the area.
Our location is ideal for those who want to enjoy the countryside without sacrificing comfort. We have all the amenities nearby: supermarkets, medical centres, transport, leisure and restaurants. We are also well connected to other interesting cities such as Sitges, famous for its beaches; Barcelona, less than an hour away; Tarragona, with its historical heritage; and the Montserrat area, perfect for hiking and nature.
We have stable, high-quality internet at home, making it a perfect place for people who work remotely and are looking for a quiet environment where they can concentrate and, at the same time, enjoy rural life.
Our dog is quite active: he loves to play ball, go for long walks and explore the mountains and surrounding trails, so he is ideal for someone who likes animals and the outdoors.
We are looking to share our home and our way of life with open-minded, responsible people who want to live an authentic experience in a natural and family-friendly environment.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Staying with us is a great opportunity for a rich cultural exchange. We are a multicultural family: I’m Colombian, my husband is from Galicia, and we are living in Catalonia. You will get a unique perspective on Colombian, Galician, and Catalan traditions, food, and family life all in one place.
Our home is in the heart of the Penedès region, famous for its wines and cava. If you are interested in wine, vineyards, and local gastronomy, this is the perfect area to explore. You can learn about wine production, taste different varieties, and discover the local culture behind it.
We also have experience hosting volunteers from many countries, including Poland, Brazil, Norway, and the United Kingdom, so you can enjoy a friendly and international atmosphere and share experiences with people from all over the world.
Besides wine, you can experience Catalan cuisine, enjoy local markets, try traditional dishes, and even learn some cooking tips from us. Our rural location offers plenty of opportunities to connect with nature, enjoy long walks in the countryside and mountains, and experience a slower, more peaceful lifestyle while still being close to nearby cities like Vilafranca del Penedès, Sitges, Barcelona, Tarragona, and Montserrat.
Whether you are interested in family life, cooking, wine, nature, or just living in a multicultural home, you will find our place a welcoming and inspiring experience.

    Help

We are looking for help mainly with childcare and dog care.
For one week, the help will include:
Taking our one-year-old baby to daycare and picking him up.
Looking after the baby at home for about one hour per day.
Occasionally helping a few extra hours during the weekend, with a maximum of 4 hours, always agreed in advance.
Walking our dog, a very active 2-year-old Jack Russell who loves walks, playing with a ball and spending time outdoors.
During the second week, we will be away for a few days on holiday, so we need the person to stay at home taking care of our dog, making sure he is well looked after, walked and accompanied.
Having a driving license is essential, as a car will be needed for daily trips, especially for the daycare.
We are looking for a responsible, trustworthy person, who enjoys spending time with children and animals and feels comfortable in a quiet rural environment.

We love sharing languages and learning from our guests! María, the host, is an experienced Spanish teacher and can offer a couple of hours of Spanish lessons per week, tailored to your level and interests. At the same time, we are interested in hosting someone native in English who would like to practice and study English with us for a few hours per week. If you are also interested in French, we would be happy to exchange knowledge in that language too. This is a mutual language exchange: you can learn Spanish while helping us improve our English or French, making it a fun and interactive experience for everyone.
