    Description

Hi there! Thank you for visiting my page.

I’m a sociocultural psychologist and an optimistic, open-minded mom to a well-behaved five-year-old boy. As an American citizen who has traveled and lived in several countries over the past 20+ years, I feel incredibly fortunate. I truly believe that each new culture we encounter enriches our lives and broadens our perspectives in unique ways. For the past eight years, I have enjoyed living in all regions of Morocco. However, my health has recently declined, and I now require some assistance around the house with some simple household chores. We are centrally located between Casablanca, Marrakesh, and Agadir, just minutes from the ocean. Here, you can spend time with some wonderful animals, become part of our family, and share travel stories.

You will be welcomed as a member of our family in our home, which is located just minutes from the ocean in a quaint Berber village. As part of our family, you will share all of our meals with us and have the option to accompany us whenever we leave the house, whether it’s to go to the store, the beach, or any other day adventure we plan. Additionally, if you’re interested, we can help you arrange a personalized tour of the area or country.

  • Help

    Help

For those travelers offering general assistance and not assisting with a specific role, such as House/Pet Sitter, Teacher, Carpenter, etc.

In order to be completely transparent and avoid any miscommunication or unmet expectations, we ask that in addition to cleaning up after yourself for you to be able to autonomously complete the following:

    **Daily Chores:**
    - Wash the kitchen floor (10 minutes, can be done anytime of day-preferable in the evening before bed)
    - Wash the hallway floor (5 minutes, can be done anytime of day-preferable in the evening before bed)
    - Wash the front patio, stairs, and outside entrance. (30 minutes, can be done anytime of day-preferable in the morning)
    - Wash the back patio. (20 minutes, can be done anytime of day-preferable in the morning)
    - Take out the trash.

The remainder of your time should be spent either doing a special project or raking the backyard.
We ask for help 5 hours a day, 5 days a week. You will have 2 days off per week.

    **Special Projects:**
-At least once during your stay, or once a month depending on how long you stay, deep clean the kitchen. This includes, but is not limited to, the fridge, freezer, stove-top, cupboards, under the couch, and ceiling.
-Deep clean the new plastic "dog house."
-Plant the garden once the garden boxes have been built.
-Paint something beautiful (no nudity) on our wall/fence in the back—discuss your idea with us first.
-If you have experience training dogs, I have a Belgian Malinois that would love to work with you to learn how to leave the free-range chickens alone.
-If you are an experienced Waldorf or Forest educator, I am eager to learn new techniques to enhance my son's homeschooling experience.
-If you have any musical skills, and the instrument, please share with my son and I some basic instructions with the aim of my son being able to experience a wide range of musical/artistic skills.

    ______________________________________________________________________________________________
For those coming specifically as Carpenters, you are excluded from the daily chores, however you will still be expected to clean up after yourself.

Projects listed in order of importance:
    1) Build a dog house for our outside dog.
    2) Build a chicken coop.
    3) Build garden boxes.
    4) Build a school desk/workstation and chair for my son.
    5) Build a desk and chair for me.
    6) Build storage cabinets, multiple sizes for multiple purposes. Ask what they will be used for, and the actual design of the storage unit will be up to you.

    ________________________________________________________________________________________________
My husband travels the countryside, going from souk to souk, buying and selling various items. If you are male and seeking a truly unique, one-of-a-kind, off-the-grid adventure, he would appreciate an extra pair of hands for carrying and moving things around. Please inquire specifically about this opportunity if you are interested.
