Description
We're opening our home to workawayers wishing to come volunteer on our small acreage. We're currently working on developing the land we have to become self-sustainable. Our primary goal is to feed our family and friends with the produce from our land. In previous years our children have been the extra help we need from time to time. Tina is a professional photographer that works early mornings at a local café and drives buses for the local school run. Andrew is a retired high Voltage electrician who has recently returned to work driving heavy machinery.
We have multiple dogs that Tina takes away for competition showing which means we often need a house sitter for a few days.
Our daughter lives close by and regularly spends time at the farm and one of our sons often returns from overseas and spends small amounts of time living with us (he's the one who convinced us to start a workaway).Types of help and learning opportunities

Help
Our aim to become self sufficient means an endless list of projects from setting up new poultry houses, moving stock, weeding vegetable gardens, fence maintenance, assistance in training new dogs, crop management. We are both travellers ourselves and our children are all local and international travellers.

I stayed there for a week. It was wonderful to spend every day with many animals in the nature with lots of greenery! For the first time in my life I saw a puppy being born. And the life with the Dalmatian puppies was real 101 😂🐶
Thank you for everything. We talked a lot every day, watched movies together, played sports, ate food, I… read more

We loved the stay with Andrew and Tina!
We had to cut our stay short because we got a job opportunity, but we would have liked to stay a lot longer than only 3 weeks. The entire family is kind and welcomed us into their home, like we were part of the family.
The dogs are great and we… read more
