    Description

Hello we are Aukje, Kristian and our 11 year old son Sol. We are an artist and a nature guide who now run a group nature/art connection centre in Asturias ( around a beautiful hotel which is currently closed to the public ). Our 9 hectares overlook an almost panoramic view of the Picos de Europa and surrounding mountainscape. These stunning views are situated perfectly close to the town of Arriondas and only 20 mins away from the immersive coastline. With wild animal's traversing the land and a beautiful mountain stream to bath in, it’s a small paradise in the hills. Alongside this we are starting a Rewilding project on our land to create abundance and diversity that can benefit all aspects of our local environment. We could use some hands with the vegetable garden which will eventually be a free community run project for schools. and in various rewilding projects on the land which are towards improving bioversity in the local area. We love unconventional ideas and the new and the old ways of living. On the menu for the coming year are also pond digging, creating an alternative irrigation system, invent a recycle machine, habitat building, artistic land intervention as well as building an outdoor shower and dry toilet.. We have always tons to do and we hope to welcome you!

As Artists we would love to collaborate on creative projects during your stay with us, we are open to all ideas. We hope to share all our knowledge on nature connection and art with all volunteers to inspire and spread the word and in exchange to receive a diversity of stories, worldviews and skills from volunteers coming from all walks of life.

Kristian is a certified nature guide and tracking specialist. We are learning about our natural surroundings everyday from the stars, herbs, animals and vegetation to prepping, conserving and fermenting food.
