Description
Llanguage school, and cultural exchange program that welcomes visitors to experience a small fishing village on the Pacific coast of Nicaragua. We employ three local Nicarguan staff. Our lodge is located right on the beach and can accommodate 24 people. El Transito is a super small fishing village (population 2,000) where everyone knows everyone. It is extremely quiet and very safe. Our lodge is located 30-35 minute walk down the beach to the center of the village.

Our local staff and family Fran and Emir live on the property with us. They are extremely sweet and we play board games together, go fishing, cook, and play sports together. There is ample time to practice your Spanish with them and learning all about the small village of El Transito. We have communal meals (breakfast and lunches and dinners) together.
As well, the mission of our organization is to offer tourists a sustainable way to connect with the local community so we will have tons of opportunities to work with the local community with us (art murals, recycling art projects, beach clean-ups, baseball practices, etc.) You would be welcome to join any and all of those activities.Projects involving children

We are a looking for a teacher/nanny who will educate and watch our two sons ages 9 and 6. Our sons are enrolled in an online school and you would support them going through the lessons and ensuring they are completing their work on the computer. A typical schedule would be: 8am-9am morning activity/breakfast 9am-noon online classwork (you would not need to create any lessons at all). and 1pm-2pm free time. It would be 6 hours of work per day Monday-Friday. Off Saturday and Sunday.
Our boys are very sweet, they love playing on the beach and surfing/fishing. There would be a lot of opportunities to do fun activities with them along with the school work.Languages

You would have your own room on the main level of the 6 bedroom lodge. You would have your own bathroom and there are fans in the room (a/c also available for additional cost).
Our amazing chef Fran will provide Breakfasts, lunches and dinners at our lodge for all workaway participants. Meals consist of fresh ingredients and a protein option (eggs, chicken, fresh fish, beef, or pork). What else ...
The nearest surf break from the lodge is about a 20 minute walk down the beach (Pistols break), the main village which has a beautiful sand break great for beginners to experts is a 40 minute walk down the beach (or a 5 minute bike ride). Fishing is available right in back of the lodge where you can catch snapper, mackerel, and snook for dinner. We have two sweet dogs and one cat on the property as well who love everyone. Our children go to bed at 9pm so we would request quiet time after 9pm.
