Description
We live with our two dogs in a small hamlet, in the woods, a five minute drive from a medieval town. It is beautiful, tranquil and calm. Our property has an acre of garden and land that we need help with. There are also barns which are in need of some TLC. The region has plenty to explore. If you like walking or cycling, there are many walking and cycling routes very close by.
Types of help and learning opportunities
Language practiceGardeningDIY and building projectsGeneral MaintenanceCultural exchange and learning opportunities
Travellers staying with us can learn or improve their English and or French. They can discover French culture and history as we are close to many interesting medieval and prehistoric places to visit. We aspire to speak French fluently, so if you are French speaking, we could learn from each other. We are happy to help any travellers learn English, if they so wish. We are also open to learning any new skills or information that travellers want to share.

Help
We are looking for someone to help us with restocking our wood supply, cutting back trees and plants and general gardening. One of our barns needs some repair and we want to start a vegetable garden.

We are learning to speak French and really want to speak it fluently.Accommodation
We offer a 2 bedroom gite, with a terrace, to stay in. Apart from the 2 double bedrooms, there is a bathroom, a small kitchen and lounge. Although there is a kitchen, we can have lunch and dinner together in the main house. Breakfast will be provided for you to make yourself. There is a tv and satalite wifi, so in the evening or free time you can relax with just the view from your terrace or with your favourite tv programme.
What else ...
We have bikes to use for getting around but we can also show you some of what the area has to offer, if you are interested. The closest medieval town is a 15 minute bike ride, which has a church, shops and restaurants. If you like horse riding there is an equestrian centre within cycling distance and of course there is a Petanque pitch in the town. We can show you how to play or just borrow the boules and have a go yourself.
