Description
We are a Swiss couple (retired) and live in a campo (17 acres) close to the beach. We have lots of projects - like making bio-char for planting trees and for the dry-toilet - planting trees using the method of Ellen White - bio construction (8 huts around a swimming pool). Our focus is our care for the environment. We don't have animals except the birds, lizards, hares and foxes that look after themselves.
At the moment we are looking for someone who would do garden chores like planting trees, cutting grass and more. Apart from this it would be great if you can help us with our bioconstruction.
If you are interested in bio-construction and permaculture, you are the right person for us. The focus will be bio-construction and tasks around the house. You will live in your own bio constructed hut with 30 m2, fully furnished with much of space around the hut for enjoying life. You can also use our Sauna, the hydro massage bath tub and the swimming pool.
Our place is about one hour away from Montevideo, 30 minutes from Libertad (the next town, where you can go to restaurants and shopping centers) and about one and a half hours from Colonia de Sacramento.
Our idea is that you help out 5 hours in the morning with a break of 30 minutes, 5 days a week. But we are ready to change this schedule according to your wishes.
We speak German, English, Spanish, French and Portuguese.

The cultural exchange is the combination of Switzerland and Uruguay. (We are Swiss and living in Uruguay). If someone is interested in learning German, we can talk in German. Travellers will certainly learn about bio-construction and permaculture.
Help
The help will mainly consist of bio-construction. Knowledge of bio-construction and some skill in some skills in craftsmanship like construction tasks, mainly bio-construction will be very much appreciated. There might be things to do around and in the house like cleaning and help with preparing food.

I'm very interested in languages. I'm ready to exchange and sharing the languages I speak. I was a teacher for German, English and French.
Accommodation
You can live in a beautiful mud house, fully furnished with a lot of space around the hut. There is a lower and an upper floor. On the lower floor is the living area and on the upper floor there are closets and two beds with very good mattresses. The cabin is used exclusively by the travellers. The cabin is without kitchen. We have a spacious kitchen which is a separate room where food is prepared. Help in the kitchen is very much appreciated for our meals
What else ...
There are buses from Kiyú to Libertad. From Libertad you have many opportunities for trips, e.g. B. Colonia de Sacramento, Montevideo and much more. Kiyú has many opportunities for sports. The beach is very beautiful and most of the time deserted. One can take long walks. There are also a few restaurants and a bar.
