Description
Enjoy life on a hobby farm in a stunning setting in the middle of the Bega Valley on the south coast of New South Wales, while helping with the day-to-day work of looking after cattle, sheep, goats, geese and chickens. We also have a variety of projects to improve our farm infrastructure and to rehabilitate and re-vegetate damaged and vulnerable parts of our rural properties. We are a laidback semi-retired couple with plenty of animal companions and just as many gardening, landscaping and building projects. Our main farm is 15 minutes drive from Bega and we can provide transport from anywhere in the local region.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We take every opportunity to participate in local community and music/arts events and would happily include you in whatever is on. Back on the farm, we can spend as much or as little time together as suits you ... we are happy to share our own experiences and skills, and would be honoured to learn about yours. We are both artists and love all genres of music, particularly world music and dance. We would aim to spend at least one day of each week with Workawayers exploring local museums and culturally-significant places.
Help
We are very flexible on what you will contribute while you stay with us ... a lot will depend on your own skills and capacity, plus length of stay, etc! We have tagged all the things that could be part of your experience with us, although our primary goal is to advance our Eco-projects and land rehabilitation efforts. Animal care is part of our routine
One constant activity in our lives is participating in a food re-use/rescue program that assists a local charity while also providing feed for our livestock. It isn't difficult work and is quick to learn.
Our farms can utilise many diverse skills and experience .... however, even a novice will have plenty to do, as long as you have the willingness, energy and interest to start with. As a rough guide, we would gladly provide accommodation and meals for approx. 20 hours of 'unskilled' help a week. But happy to adapt this to suit your situation/interests...Languages

Very happy to help visitors with English fluency.Accommodation
You wil have the choice of 2 self-contained living quarters. These are two modern, registered caravans. Bathroom and laundry is shared. Meal arrangements can be negotiated, but ideally main meals (lunch and dinner) would be mostly shared.
What else ...
We travel into Bega most days and can help with your transport. Also please be aware that, for most of 2023, our region has been in severe drought so was very dry and dusty ... so we have been busier than usual with feeding our animals and trying to keep them healthy. Now, after record amounts of rain, we have to repair tracks and dams damaged by water flooding down our hills.

Can host digital nomads
We have excellent signal strength on all the major networks and a generous data limit on our own connection.
Space for parking camper vans
We have plenty of space for setting up campervans and caravans. We can't offer unlimited power as we have a stand-alone solar system, but it has some reserve capacity on sunny days.
Can possibly accept pets
This is strictly limited to highly-socialised and placid pets that can adjust quickly to being around a wide variety of very quiet and trusting animals, including poultry.
How many Workawayers can stay?
Two
Hours expected
We are flexible with this, but, as a guide, for full board and lodging, we would like approx 20 hours per week (e.g. 4 hours a day, 5 days a week), but very negotiable esp for skilled, experienced help. Shorter stays are possible but at least one week is
