Hello! We are a local Mayan family.
We live in the Mayan community of Yalcobá near Valladolid, and have land on which we practice agriculture using ancestral techniques.
We are passionate about preserving our culture. We believe one of the best ways of doing this is by sharing our ways of life.
We are looking for volunteers to help us with landscaping, agriculture and construction and cleaning overgrown areas.
We will be there to guide you with the work. These are all relatively simple tasks, and we will share our skills and knowledge with you along the way.
We developed an experimental center in the heart of the rainforest doing permaculture, syntropic agriculture, forestry, ecotourism, ecoconstruction and sustainable living.

¡Hola! Somos una familia maya local.
Vivimos en la comunidad maya de Yalcobá, cerca de Valladolid, y tenemos tierras en las que practicamos la agricultura con técnicas ancestrales.
Es muy importante para nosotros preservar nuestra cultura. Creemos que una de las mejores maneras de hacerlo es compartiendo nuestras formas de vida.
Estamos buscando voluntarios que puedan ayudarnos con limpieza de zonas cubiertas de maleza, el cuidado de las plantas, la reconstrucción de casas tradicionales y el apoyo al mantenimiento de las tierras de la comunidad. Estaremos con ustedes para guiarles en el trabajo. Todas son tareas relativamente sencillas, y compartiremos con usted nuestras habilidades y conocimientos a lo largo del proceso.
Elaboramos un centro experimental en el corazón de la selva haciendo permacultura, agricultura sintropica, silvicultura, ecoturismo, ecoconstrucción y vida sostenible.

You will be fully integrated into the process and participate to the mission supporting the local Mayan community of Yalcobá. Through this purpose, you will be able to learn more about this culture, by participating in activities with the locals and by exchanging with them. The connection between several worlds and several ways of life is a basis for personal and collective enrichment.
You will also be led to learn more about the themes of agroecology, forest gardening, eco-construction and ecosystem preservation.

Estará completamente integrado en el proceso y participará en nuestra misión de apoyar a la comunidad maya local de Yalcobá. A través de este objetivo, podrás conocer más sobre esta cultura, participando en actividades con los locales e intercambiando con ellos. La conexión entre varios mundos y varias formas de vida es una base para el enriquecimiento personal y colectivo.

We are looking for volunteers to help us with gardening, farming and construction.
We will be by your side to guide you through the work. These are all relatively simple tasks, and we will share our skills and knowledge with you along the way.
A good level of Spanish is required.

The accommodation is located in the jungle, has a fully equipped kitchen, water and electricity, but the volunteers have to be prepared to live in a basic way, without internet connection.
We will take you to the village so you can buy food.
