Description
Hi Workawayers! 😊
We are a happy, easy-going couple living in the beautiful small village of Sävsjöström in Småland, about 45 km from Växjö.
Here you can experience peaceful Swedish nature – forests, lakes, bike trails (we have bicycles), swimming in the lake, picking wild blueberries in season, and enjoying quiet time. If you visit in mid-June, you may experience traditional Swedish Midsummer.
This is an ideal place for someone looking for a calm, rural stay away from big cities.
Help
We ask for up to 5 hours per day, 5 days a week, with weekends free.
The schedule is flexible and we always agree together on tasks and timing.
The help usually includes:
• gardening
• help with small home improvement projects
• light DIY tasks around the house
• painting and simple maintenance
• helping with small upgrades
• simple household tasks (rarely)
• organizing and keeping shared spaces tidy
• light outdoor help
• occasional house sitting
The tasks are not physically demanding and we often work together in a relaxed atmosphere.
This is a cultural exchange and not a job position.
Food & Living
We share breakfast and a simple lunch (for example soup, hot dogs, hamburgers etc.) and we often have FIKA together. You are also welcome to use our fully equipped kitchen.
We eat a normal mixed diet including meat and dairy, meat and sugar but we are happy to discuss dietary preferences in advance.
We value respect, openness and good communication, and we enjoy cultural exchange and conversations.
We look forward to meeting kind and independent people who would like to experience Swedish countryside life with us 😊

Our James Bond 🙂 - a man who will take up any task with enthusiasm and a smile on his face. He sees things to do that you don't notice yourself (in our case it was a broken gutter, which Lucas noticed and fixed). He easily mowed our grass by driving a large lawnmower tractor.
