    “WELCOMING A VOLUNTEER TO OUR HISTORIC VILLA NEAR VERONA & LAKE GARDA”.

    Ciao!
    My name is Sally. I’m an Irish/English mum to a wonderful autistic son (Umberto 26). We live together with our two friendly dogs in a beautiful 16th-century villa nestled in the bucolic countryside of northern Italy, close to Lake Garda.
    This is a great location for lovers of nature and the outdoors;
    and it’s renowned for its hiking trails, cycle paths, climbing, canyoning and water sports in summer

    Our home is full of character and history. We love welcoming open-minded, independent, people who bring good energy and are happy to lend a hand.

    About Our Home:
    Our villa has a very special vibe and is spacious enough for everyone to feel comfortable.

    We don’t smoke, and we kindly ask that you don’t either while on the premises.

    We provide three vegetarian meals a day and we take turns with meal prep, and clearing away afterwards - taking care to leave the kitchen clean and tidy at the end of the day.

    Location Perks:
    We’re in a rural yet well-connected area, with a bus stop just minutes away on the route to Verona and the Lake.

    The nearest village, Rivoli Veronese, is a scenic 20-minute walk away. It’s famous for the 1797 Napoleonic battle, and is now home to a small museum, ancient fort, charming cafés, restaurants, a pizzeria, grocer, bakery, pharmacy, post office, and ATM.

    Come experience life in a historic Italian home, enjoy the beauty of the Veneto countryside, and help us bring some love and care to this very special place.

    We look forward to hearing from you!

    During your stay, you’ll have the chance to immerse yourself in Italian culture

    We also want to help you make the most of your time in this beautiful and historic region. We’ll offer local recommendations and help with transport when possible, so you can enjoy the best of what northern Italy has to offer.

    We’re perfectly located just minutes from the A22 motorway, making it easy to reach many of northern Italy’s most iconic destinations:
    * Lake Garda – 9 km (12 min drive)
    * Lazise Castle – 14 km (15 min drive)
    * Verona – 30 km (30 min drive)
    * Venice – 147 km (1 hr 20 min drive)
    * The Dolomites – 174 km (approx. 2 hr drive)

    You’ll also have plenty of free time to explore Lake Garda — its beaches, charming villages, hidden beauty spots, and seasonal water sports — or simply enjoy a peaceful swim and soak up the sunshine.

    This is a wonderful opportunity to experience Italy like a local.

    What We Need Help With:
    I require daily help with maintaining our outside areas; planting, watering, sweeping, raking leaves, mowing the grass, Our dogs also need an early morning walk to avoid the later hours which are too hot for them,
    Help with tech/ social media etc is always welcome

    My son Umberto, who is autistic, would love to have a simple treehouse; a cosy outdoor space of his own; a retreat immersed in nature and far from the jarring effects of modern living.
    So I’m looking forward to hosting volunteers with supporting DIY skills
    Umberto can’t wait to thank you 🤗

    We live with two dogs. Our big girl, Maia is a Newfound and is pleased to be recognised as a canine. On the other hand, Maia’s chum, Benito is an English Bulldog and he’s convinced he’s Human. Both are very enthusiastic about affectionate new people; gentle, funny, and they love attention. They both seek human company but are not especially high maintenance. They’re happy with a couple of (short walks a day.
