Description
We are a community living in the countryside an hour away from Berlin. Together we bought an old Watermill with some acres of forest and field. The mill is still running and producing elcetricity! We have several projects at the moment. Our main building site is to transform the attic in living space. Near the house we have 2 vegetable gardens and the beginnings of a fruit forest, On the field we are starting a agroforestry system and in the forest we are working on the transformation from mono culture pine to a mixed forest. We try to do this in ecological ways.
Our community exists of 19 adults and 11 children. We manage everything together, but do not necessarily do everything together. We work in smaller groups in different areas. But also have our own lives and most of us work outside of our project as well.
There are three different kitchens where people can eat together. We do not have dogmatic eating habits, however, when we eat together we cook vegan. Our food is almost completely organic, from our own garden, or wholesale.

It is a great possibility to be part of a bigger autonomous countryside community. because of our different backgrounds one can learn a lot about building techniques, permaculture, agroforestry etc. have political discussions, learn german.
Help
we can always need a helping hand at our building site. also in garden and forest, this winter we have a focus on putting up fences (sadly) in the forest to protect the little trees from deers.
Important is that travellers at our place have a lot of initiative.

Accommodation
we have a small guest house, with a bedroom for four people. although there is a wood oven, it can be cold in winter. In Summer we have several places one can sleep indoors, or in a tent.

There is a train going to Berlin or Potsdam every hour and takes about an hour as well.
