    Description

    Hello,
we live in a large, very old house with a cozy courtyard to relax, read, have a barbecue and eat, play and many old trees around our house. We, that is me (Melanie) and Peter with our children (11 years + 11 years + 13 years). We also have 1 dog, 1 cat, chickens + rooster (careful, it crows very early 😊), 3 ducks, 3 rabbits, 3 horses.

Our children's friends are often here because we have enough space to romp around, play, do handicrafts... We keep thinking of new projects to start. Our house would need to be renovated in many places and the majority of the building is therefore not inhabited. The garden / park around our house is beautiful but also very chaotic, like everything else here, because we don't have the time to do everything and we still want to spend nice hours together without work playing, doing handicrafts, pottery, Projects with the children, excursions, walks, cycling, horseback riding, soccer, barbecuing... .

After breakfast we are all on the road - the children at school until noon, I at work until around 2 p.m. (mostly Mon - Fri, except during the school holidays), Peter works full-time (sometimes in the home office). The hustle and bustle starts at around 2 p.m., often other children come after their homework or the boys go to play football, I take care of the animals and we always try to do something together.

We would always spend time together and of course eat together. But you would also have time just for yourself or for your own activities to explore our area. If you want, you can learn about handling our animals, bake bread with me, learn to juggle three balls or try new things with your hands. Occasionally we go on an excursion, which you are welcome to accompany us on. We look forward to nice conversations, getting to know other ways of thinking and ideas and a nice time together.

Since our children (and I) are very bad at English, it would be fantastic if you could spend some time practicing English with them every day - e.g. by telling something about yourself in simple words or just spending some time with them so that they realize that it's nice when you can speak English. It would also be good if you could supervise them every day when they do their homework, i.e. no tutoring, just checking whether they are really learning. It does not have to be a lesson (but of course it can be) and also no babysitting. If you enjoy learning with the children, you are of course welcome to do so in other subjects.

Otherwise, we would be very happy if you could help us with our chaos, simply by taking on one or the other task that you also enjoy, that you would like to try or that you are already good at and that relieve us of something, e.g.
    - Take care of animals / muck out stables
    - Cooking / baking
    - Gardening
    - Repair / build fences
    - Declutter / tidy up
    - Gladly also construction and craft work in the building and in the garden
    - make wood
    - Etc.

During the holidays it can also happen that we go on vacation for a week. If you would be willing to take care of the animals during this time, that would also be a great help. But that is not a must and not a condition for a time together.

The building is very big and old with many small rooms. Here you would of course get your own room, which is located in the side wing and is also a retreat for you. There is a shared bathroom and a small kitchen in this part of the building. Should another guest sleep in this area, the bathroom/kitchen would have to be shared. During the day, whenever you like, you should of course be part of our family and we look forward to spending time with you. The decor in the rooms is very basic and dated but pretty and functional. In the summer there is a wood burning stove in our kitchen/dining/living room, the central heating is turned off in the summer months.

We have breakfast Mon.-Fri. between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m., on weekends and during the holidays only later, around 9 a.m. We usually only eat a little something at lunchtime, because we don't come home until midday and can't cook, or we're usually busy with some projects or activities at the weekend. We cook for dinner. Depending on what the day brings, we eat between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.

In your free time you can explore the Bavarian, slightly hilly landscape in our area on foot or by bike. By bike it is about 5 km to a small train station in the next small town. From there you can take the train to Landshut, a larger train station, from where you can also go to the big cities such as e.g. Munich and Regensburg.
