Description
Hi! I’m Evie G, mum of three and happiest when they’re around me! They’re all grown up now and flown the nest so I’ve filled up my home and time with dogs! I live in South West France in a beautiful rural area, my home is at the edge of a little village with bars, (I own one of the bars!)boulangerie, butchers shop and supermarket. I am 15 mins from the Lakes and the outdoor fun, kayaking and activities they offer. Your help is required in the house with eg. light cleaning, gardening, painting but mostly dog sitting and walking, my 5 dogs need exercises daily please.
The house is old built in 1633, derelict for 10 years and needs some TLC, It is big and spacious, 3 reception rooms, 5 bedrooms and lovely gardens which need your help.
Right by the house is an area to play boules, and tennis courts, the village shop, two bars, bakery, butcher etc are a one minute stroll away.
I can collect you at Chasselneuil sur Bonnieure Bus Station or Limoges airport.Types of help and learning opportunities

I own the local bar, you can talk to all the locals and play board games and explore the language, people and culture the village has to offer over a drink! I can teach you to cook & provide you with hosting skills to be the host/ess with the most/ess when you get back home!
You can have pet therapy while you’re here from my lovely dogs
We can walk some trails & head to the lakes for a day in nature
I like to spend an evening playing board games and cards in the pub with the French locals and British Ex Pats.

I need help with dog walking, I’ve 4 big dogs and could really do with some help. A deep spring clean of the house would be great and the walls, woodwork and beams cleaned down and painted is my goal. I would like help sanding and painting the window shutters.

Creating a vegetable garden!

The area is stunning, lush and green and fields filled with cattle. The village has two bars, tennis courts, an outdoor pool (subject to seasonal opening and Covid) the next town is 12 mins in a car. The lakes are 15 mins in a car. Your own transportation would be advantageous as there is no public transport in the area.
Most people enjoy the local markets and lively brocantes in the area; the neighbourhood is friendly, I own the local bar and we have games evenings, however entertaining is often done in each others homes as we cook for friends. For a night out we meet for drinks at the bar by the lakes, watching the sun set. Limoges is 45 mins drive & Angouleme is only 40 Mins away and is a lovely city, strolling the ramparts, dining ans drinking al fresco whilst soaking up the view and atmosphere. The train station here has TGV trains direct to Bordeaux (35mins) Paris (2hours)A little more information

Yvonne welcomed us so warmly into her home. We’re so grateful! She served us amazing food in the bar, and she would always give us drinks and we really appreciated that. And she also took us to tourist attractions nearby.

I learned a lot about Irish culture and food, while I got to live in a tiny French village.
The work was mainly painting and some light housework and the hours was maximum 5 a day.
