We are a touristic eco park located in the municipality of Huimanguillo, Tabasco, on the border of the state Chiapas. We have been in the process of reactivating the park since September 2015. The park was cut off from tourism during the last decade, fighting against the exploitation of the natural resources of the territory (wood, minerals, archaeological traces and illegal hunting), bad administration of public resources for its opening for tourism and the marginalization.
Our project contemplates the creation of a community with conscience.
This place has an incredible history of once being home for the indigenous Zoque culture with the ruins of the city located just 1 km from the farm. Today its one of the best kept secrets on the backpacker route in Mexico.

Helping with Tourists
As a volunteer here you will see what life is like in a village of 300 people, on the border of Mexican jungle. Only Spanish is spoken in the village, so it's great for language practice. You will learn a lot about eco farming, Zoque culture and can participate in different adventure sports at the park.
The project contemplates the initial selection of 4 volunteers who would start working on the following 3 stages:
1. Being self-sustainable
Construction of the orchards, facilities and compounds with tropical adaptability, in order to harvest the maximum percentage of consumable food for the inhabitants.
Ecological buildings, recycling and reuse for the growth of the community. This project is segmented into reuse and carpentry.
We have a house (hostel) and a private cabin for its financing. From stage 1, volunteers will be staying in the hostel with the hope to have soon enough structure to start receiving guests as soon as possible and share the treasures of Zoque with the world.
We need people who can help us in the different everyday tasks as harvesting, cleaning the orchards, maintenance work, helping as a tourist guide and giving us ideas for the organic farm project and camping area.
You will help a maximum of 5 hours per day and 5 days a week. In exchange for the help we offer free accommodation and meals. The minimum stay is two weeks and maximum stay two months.
As a volunteer you will be sharing a room with other volunteers.
We are just 1.5 hours from Tuxtla Gutierrez and 4 hours from San Cristobal. There's a lot of beautiful places to see around this area. Public transportation between the towns is easy, buses run all day long.
