    Description

We are a small, happy family living in Brussels, Belgium: me and my wonderful little daughter Alma.

I’m a single mom, working full-time in Brussels, and I truly enjoy family life with Alma, who is almost 2 years old. Our days are full, fun, and sometimes wonderfully unpredictable. I’m originally from Germany and have lived abroad for over 20 years, including in the Netherlands, Canada and Paraguay. I love spending time with friends, travelling, and staying curious about life and people.

Alma is a joyful, active child who loves to run, play hide and seek, read books, and enjoy cozy cuddle moments.

We’ve just moved into a new house in a green, calm neighbourhood of Brussels next to a community garden. The metro is a 10-minute walk away and takes you to the city centre in less than 20 minutes.

I’m looking for a friendly, reliable female Workawayer to support our family life for about 25 hours a week starting as soon as possible. I am only considering applications for at least 3 months.

    Help would include:
    - Childcare, including taking Alma to kindergarten on some weekdays
    - Cooking simple, healthy meals
    - Support household work in general

You’ll have your own room, and will be sharing the rest of the house, including the garden with space for independence. I value openness, kindness, and good communication. I look forward to welcome someone who enjoys being around children and sharing everyday life.

If you’re looking for a warm home base in Brussels and enjoy family life, I´d love to hear from you.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Staying with us means being part of everyday family life in an international and open-minded environment. I come from Germany and have lived in several countries over the past 20+ years, so cultural exchange is something I truly value and enjoy.

You can expect shared meals, conversations about different cultures, lifestyles and perspectives, and a warm, respectful atmosphere where curiosity is welcome. Brussels itself is a very international city, full of languages, cultures, food and history – and I’m happy to share tips and local insights.

I believe cultural exchange doesn’t have to be big or formal – it happens naturally over breakfast, on the way to kindergarten, while cooking together or spending time in the garden, especially in Brussels where so many cultures live together.
