27 historic rustic lakeside cabins, operates May-Oct. Wilderness activities, canoeing, hiking, bird watching, fishing. Looking for an individual or couple, to create and deliver a small recreation program.
Helping with Tourists
Equipment available: Tennis court, canoes,small playground, badminton/volley ball net, croquet court, horseshoes, ring toss, beach campfire pit. Program to be available late afternoon and evenings, for various age groups. Because of interaction with young guests, drug/alcohol free individual is required.
Volunteer(s) would also be required to do some light maintenance, ie mow lawn or pile wood.
Staff accommodation would be bunkhouse style. May be sharing with other staff. Breakfast and supper would be taken with other staff as well. Lunches arent normally provided, but there's always something good to eat in the staff fridge. Note that this is a wilderness area, approx 20 km from the nearest town.
Free internet access in main lodge.
No TV's on site.
Cell phone coverage is fickle at best.
Annapolis Royal is a small historic town 20 km from here. Lots of museums, craft shops, farmers market.
Bear River is a small village 25 km from here, scenic, historic and close to native reserve.
Digby is a local port, famous for its scallop fleet. McDonalds, coffee shop, Walmart, supermarkets. 35 km from here.
