I have spent 6 weeks with Charlotte, Ian and their family. It was my first workaway experience and it couldn't have been better. Tasks mostly include walking the dog - Teddy, cleaning or doing some DIY. Everything is always explained, communication is clear and there is no strict schedule, you are free to do want you want, take initiative or

This is a being-part-of-the-family kind of experience. You will be included in their activities like family parties, grills, going swimming in the lake, visiting family members for fika, going shopping or having fun in the city centre. You can always decide whether you want to join or not. You will also have a lot of time to yourself, to explore the area or simply rest.
Charlotte cooks really well but you can also make your own food, everything in the fridge and storage cabinets can be used freely. I'm a vegetarian and it was never a problem, had some delicious meals.
Loved spending time with this open, honest and kind family. I apprieciate everything you did and said.
Hope you have the best vacation ever!

It was a pleasure to have Elsa and Ameline in our house. They were energetic and always positive and polite. They took own initiatives and were eager to learn new things. They got along well with the whole family and we became friends. We strongly recommend them as workawayers.

We stayed one month and a half in this enthousiast family. Charlotte, Ian and their childrens are reallly kind and welcoming. They love to share and will make you feel like a part of the family. They will always take you to try lots of different activities, and include you in their family evening and discussions (fluent family in english).
We
… read more were previously in a farm whereas here, in Falun, it's more a family life experience. So if you're looking for a cultural exchange and a chill atmosphere it's the perfect place to be. You will not do a specific work like in a farm. The amont of work is not big, you just have to walk the dog,Teddy, twice a day and mostly help with the daily tasks like cooking and cleaning the house. You are free to schedule your day yourself, the tasks just have to be done at the end of the day. Somedays they can ask you to participate at some extra tasks like change a wheel or do the grocery shooping with them.
Thanks to them, we were lucky to experience the swedish life. We went swimming in a frozen lake, eat barbecue(during winter time), try the famous meatballs and others traditional meals ( Charlotte is an excellent cooker !). In winter time, you can have the chance to observe notherns lights but only if you are ready to jump in a car at midnight ;)
In the area, there is plenty of different activities to do like ice skating on the lake down the street, alpin ski, cross country skiing or ski jumping. Also, you can found some famous touristic area to visit like Falun copper mine, Karl Larsson house and others museums in the city. Stockholm is at only 2 hours by train, so it's also an option !
We are very thankful for our stay in Falun and never forget about it. One of our best experience in our lifes !
P.S : Hope you'll enjoy Paris ;)You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.
