Description
Welcome to our listing! We are Amber and Bradley, living aboard our Prout 39 Catamaran. We have been traveling around the world full-time for the last 3 years and are now exploring the Mediterranian by sailboat. We want to share experiences with others and would love to host crew to help keep the vessel in tip-top shape, to simplify daily logistics, and to introduce people to the sailing community. At the moment, we are focusing on Malta, Italy, and Greece. The ultimate goal of our vessel is to be fully self-sustainable and off-grid. We want to architect our lives to live as freely, healthy, and safely as possible.
We are both licensed Skippers through the Royal Yacht Association (RYA) out of the UK and we are both Engineers. We have designed all of our own systems and we maintain everything ourselves on the vessel. We are also "Digital Nomads" - working fully remotely from the vessel. Amber primarily works on the technical side of things and Bradley deals with the operations and logistics of daily life.
We absolutely love the water and play in it as much as we can! We love to find the best snorkeling spots, the best spear and handline fishing spots (sustainably of course), and the best places to explore on land. We enjoy working out daily, stretching, and eating cleanly. We enjoy movies, coffee on the foredeck at sunrise, and occasionally a sundowner at sunset before stargazing. We have a Stand Up Paddle Board and Dingy on board as well!
We mostly live at anchor and are active in the sailing community. We support other vessels and introduce ourselves to have shared experiences with our neighbors. We help them where we can as well.
We are happy to host solo travelers and couples - ideally for 1 month. Digital nomads are welcome! We are looking for positive and energetic people who love to learn, are adaptable, and are willing to get their hands dirty.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
In the sailing community, there are all types of people from all types of cultures, education levels, and backgrounds. It is a melting pot of people who share similar mindsets around sustainability, freedom, and self-dependence. On board, you should feel more part of a small, international community rather than a traditional "host family" setup. We regularly introduce ourselves to people and set up small gatherings to connect with other sailors and learn about their life stories and their perspectives.
We are happy to share our practical and theoretical knowledge around off-grid living, optimized cooking, and how to sail. You will get insight into how we balance work, play, productivity, and unconventional life logistics as Digital Nomads; plus what is important to consider with paperwork (taxes, visas, registration, certifications, etc). You can get hands-on experience with engineering systems (with a full explanation as to why the tradeoffs for the current systems have been made) and how we manage safety at sea. Oh yeah... ITS ALSO BEAUTIFUL EVERY DAY.
By hosting people from different cultures, we hope to broaden our perspectives, learn new ways of cooking, hear different viewpoints on travel and life choices, and create meaningful connections.
Help
We need support with cooking, cleaning, and laundry as you would expect for a normal house. You may also expect to pick up items on a shopping list for groceries or boat parts - which often ends up being a fun shore mission. Special boat help may include scrubbing the deck, cleaning out engine bays, cleaning out bilges, polishing stainless steel. More advanced boat help may include supporting engine maintenance, water system maintenance, sailing hardware maintenance. It is super helpful if you could do something as simple as get tools when needed. We are fully capable of handling the vessel on our own (and even individually if required) but we may request your support with handling lines or with night watches if we are going on a multi-day sail. You may be required to support other vessels in the community as well with their various needs - similar to our vessel.

Accommodation
Accommodation is on board our cruising sailboat. We keep it clean, organized, and set up for safe and comfortable living. Helpers are provided with a secure, private sleeping space suitable for one person or a couple with dedicated storage for personal items in each room. Bedding is provided and food is fully included. We share meals and coordinate groceries together, with helpers involved in planning, shopping, and cooking.
We have limited resources on board, so you should not expect daily hot showers. We have to be aware of how much electricity and water we use because it is gone once it is gone. We value efficient, low-waste, high protien meals that work well in an off-grid environment. Most dinners are shared, and we treat meals as an important part of daily life and cultural exchange on board. We typically have morning meetings (over coffee and breakfast) to discuss the needs and wants for the day.
Our boat is set up as a functional home rather than a camping experience, but it is not a party boat or luxury experience. We want to ensure that there is mutual respect for shared spaces and that everyone is comfortable and well supported during their stay.
What else ...
In your time off, you may go to shore and explore solo (or with us if you would like). Enjoy swimming, hiking, and fishing (also with us if you would like). There are many nice port towns with wonderful bars and restaurants. You can relax on the beach with a book or some music. We have a guitar on board if you like to play!
