Description
My project consist of fixing an olive tree farm into organic olive oil production. I am a passionate nature single man looking for some help. I offer friendly accommodation and cultural interchange. Likewise, I am a Biologist researcher working for the government in Madrid. I have no business or any other activity apart from my hobbies, which is botanic, landscaping etc. In 2020 I bought a small farm with a country basic house in Tarragona province (600km away from my current residence). Before I bought it, the farm was abandoned for many years and nowadays, it is full of weeds and the olive trees canopy growing like a jungle. It is difficult to find people who can help me to do this work. That's why I need somebody who can help me, who can help me in a friend relationship if possible, during my holidays when I stay in the farm. It is only for a few hours per day, most of the time will be practicing English, going to the seaside etc. as a part of my holiday time. Workawayers will not be asked to help with any produce sold to the public or with any other business tasks, and that they will only help with produce that is for our own consumption. Workawayers must be dog lovers because I live with three dogs.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Expertise in oliviculture, gardening and landscaping is offered to workawayers. The farm is situated 150 km south of Barcelona, at 215 meters altitude in a small range of mountains inside RED NATURA 2000 of the European Union. The seaside is very close and local gastronomy is excellent. We offer trekking in Parc Natural de Els Ports and Ebro Delta. In addition, cultural and language interchange Catalan/Spanish/ English will be welcome.
Help
A farm with 250 olives trees which need seasonal maintenance, overall pruning and cutting grass. Since we don`t use pesticides our main task is related to conservation and landscaping more than production, including planting native perennials and bushes from mediterranean and semi-arid climates all over the world. Local workers are scarce and not enough sensitive to this aim. During the month of November olives are harvested, afterwards begin careful pruning with the guidance of experts...

Accommodation
Basic small house for single man because only one private room is available. Workawayer will share with the owner the living room, kitchen and bathroom. Include food and beverages and transport to the nearest village. Laundry when necessary. Good data connection but no Wi-Fi.
What else ...
Transport by railtrain is available if workawayer wish to visit Barcelona during weekend. Trekking at the mountains and seaside is a good choice. Monumental small cities and villages are very close.
