Description
We're Manon, Alessandro and Brioche (I'm a dog) a little young family passionate about nature, travelling, independence, regenerative practices, agriculture, farming, gardening, trekking and life.
After almost 10 years of working and travelling overseas we felt the the needs to set roots and to transform our dream in to a reality.
We bought an old farm stable in ruins (dry stone building) inside a very small village and a few hectares of old chestnuts forest next to it.
On one side we want to restore the old building using eco techniques, as much as we can, to transform it in to our house and on the other side we are developing a syntropic garden, a little orchard based on agroforestry systems principles that will also be applied to some parts of the chestnuts forest.
Please don't hesitate to get in touch for more information, we're open to all enquiries.
Happy travels from Alessandro, Manon and Brioche!

UN sustainability goals this host is trying to achieve

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We're open minded humans always keen to learn and share experiences and skills.
We're located in South Ardèche, near the town of Joyeaux. The place is famous for its rivers, canyons and forests with plenty of hiking and biking trails, bathing spots, canyoning, rafting, climbing spots, old small village full of history, little local markets and last but definitely not least...exceptionally good cheese!!!
Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.

Help
We'd love to share this little corner of paradise with like-minded humans that are keen to give us a hand in shaping our dream in a concrete reality.
What could you be doing:
- helping taking care and developing the syntropic garden
- help taking care and developing the orchard
- help preparing natural fertilizers, biochar and taking care of the worm farm
- help with implementation of the water system and fencing of the property
- take Brioche for a walk in the forest
- help with the cleaning of the chestnuts forest (soil needs access to more sunlight)
- help with firewood collection
- help with the restoration of the old buildings if interested
No obligations, you can choose on which task to work on. It's important for us that you enjoy your experience, give a go to try to learn new skills (if you feel like), you learn something and you don't feel forced to do things that you don't like doing.

Internet access

Limited internet access

We have pets

We are smokers

Can host families

Can host digital nomads
We don't have wifi as phone reception is optimal here but if you really need wifi we can arrange something 🙂

Space for parking camper vans
Roads are a bit steep and narrow to reach the village so if you have a very big motorhome could be tricky to reach the place. We cannot offer direct access to water and electricity for your vehicle at the moment but we're planning to improve our infrastructure in the coming years; to provide temporary access to electricity we can provide a portable generator (petrol engine).
