    Description

We would love to welcome you to our home in Altafulla, a beautiful coastal village in Catalonia, where you can enjoy a peaceful environment, connect with nature and experience the local lifestyle.

I live with my 11-year-old daughter, who stays with me on Mondays and Tuesdays and every other weekend. This means that you will also have plenty of time to yourself to relax, explore the area, enjoy the surroundings or work on your own projects.

Our home is located in Altafulla, a charming village with a beautiful castle, a wonderfully preserved old town, a lovely beach and fascinating Roman ruins. It is a perfect place to discover Catalan culture and history while enjoying the Mediterranean lifestyle. Tarragona is just 10 minutes away by train, and Barcelona is only about an hour away, making it easy to explore two amazing cities.

Nature is one of the greatest things about living here. Just nearby, there is a long, beautiful beach surrounded by woodland, with no buildings or roads in sight. It is a wonderful place for swimming, walking, relaxing or simply enjoying the beauty of the Mediterranean coast.

Our house is spacious and full of natural light, with lovely views over olive groves and the sea. We have a garden with trees and even a treehouse, as well as a swimming pool that we are currently transforming into a natural, ecological pond. We also have a traditional clay oven, which makes our home a special place to enjoy outdoor living and perhaps prepare some delicious homemade food.

You will have your own private bedroom with a large wardrobe, giving you plenty of space and privacy to feel comfortable and at home.

Staying with us is an opportunity to experience a relaxed Mediterranean lifestyle, enjoy nature, discover beautiful places and become part of our home for a while. We hope to create a warm, friendly and welcoming atmosphere where you can feel free, share experiences and make wonderful memories.

We would be very happy to welcome you and share this little corner of the Mediterranean with you!

This host offers a language exchange
At home, we usually speak Catalan, so staying with us will be a great opportunity to learn or practise this beautiful language in a natural, everyday setting. I also have a degree in Spanish language and literature, so I would be happy to help you learn or improve your Spanish, adapting to your level and interests. I absolutely love languages and the opportunity to share them. I believe that learning a language is much more than studying grammar and vocabulary; it is also about discovering a culture, connecting with people and seeing the world from different perspectives. I would love to create a warm and relaxed environment where we can exchange languages, learn from each other and enjoy the richness of communicating in different languages.

I offer a comfortable, private and secure bedroom with a 115 cm-wide bed, a desk and a spacious wardrobe, giving you your own space to relax, read or work. There is a bathroom right next to your bedroom, as well as a second bathroom in the house.

Our home is spacious and welcoming, with a large living and dining room and a fully equipped kitchen where we can cook, share meals and enjoy time together.

Outside, you can enjoy our garden with trees, a sun lounger and a swimming pool that we are currently transforming into a natural ecological pond. It is a lovely place to relax, read, sunbathe or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings and beautiful views of the olive groves and the sea.

Food will be an important part of our cultural exchange. I buy fresh, organic vegetables directly from a local farmer who grows them sustainably. I am vegetarian and follow a gluten-free diet, so our meals are usually based on fresh vegetables, legumes, rice and other naturally gluten-free ingredients.

I would love to share my passion for Mediterranean food, discover new recipes and exchange culinary traditions.

As I work, I can only cook on some days, so we can agree together on how to organise meals and take turns cooking. I am sure we can find a balance that works well for both of us and makes sharing food an enjoyable part of our experience.

For me, food is much more than just eating. It is a wonderful way to share cultures, learn from each other and enjoy time together.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

There are plenty of things to do and discover in your free time. Altafulla is a beautiful village where you can enjoy the beach, explore the charming old town, visit the castle and discover its Roman ruins. If you love nature, there is also a wonderful, long beach surrounded by woodland, with no buildings or roads, where you can go for walks, swim or simply relax.

We have several bicycles that you can use to get around. The train station is about a 10-minute bike ride downhill from our house, making it easy to reach Tarragona in just 10 minutes or Barcelona in approximately an hour. Just keep in mind that the journey back home is uphill, so cycling back can be a little more tiring!

You can also spend your free time enjoying our garden, relaxing by the natural swimming pond once it is ready, reading in the shade of the trees or simply enjoying the beautiful views of the sea and the olive groves.

We live a fairly relaxed lifestyle and appreciate a peaceful, respectful and friendly atmosphere at home. I value independence and personal space, but I also enjoy sharing conversations, meals and everyday experiences.

Since I work and my daughter is at home on certain days, it is important to be flexible and considerate of our family routines. I would love to find a good balance between helping with household tasks, sharing time together and giving you plenty of freedom to enjoy your stay.

The most important things for me are mutual respect, good communication and a willingness to share and learn from each other.
