I am looking to get involved in worthwhile projects with good people. I have previously worked in education for over 17 years in various roles, such as: as a Secondary school English teacher; a Primary teacher; an English Language teacher and a teaching assistant, but am now wanting to explore the idea of working outside and developing new skills in gardening and permaculture.

Since October 2024, I have been volunteering with an organisation who support people living with dementia through the use of music. I have volunteered in a number of sessions, and have also led some sessions, as well as supporting with the development of the project.

I also attended an allotment between April 2024 and February 2025, where I developed skills in weeding, planting, harvesting and maintenance tasks. I have great experience in diy, having fixed plumbing pipes, grouting, replacement parts on kitchen appliances, as well as painting inside and outside the house too. I am proficient with a number of tools, including electric drills and the power saw also.

I am also proficient in the use of IT and can lend a hand with this where necessary.
