    Description

Do you have a passion with teaching children?

Are you passionate, diverse with an international outlook?

Do you wish to experience pure Nepali culture away from touristic areas and see a unique far western Nepal?

Namaste, I am the principal of a primary school in Dhangadhi, Far west Nepal. I have a few teaching and life changing opportunities to offer. First, to teach within an Academy which is a developed private school with around 1000 children from nursery to grade 10. You will find the kids sweet and respectful.
Secondly, to teach English and create life choice programs for the underprivileged children of a government community school. Lastly, to implement evening programs for people looking for abroad study or abroad employment.

Dhangadhi is a safe city, though non-touristic, it is conveniently located near several natural wonders. It is the first internationally awarded school in far western Nepal by the British Council. Our school, first won ISA-2012-15 in 2012, then re accredited with ISA 2016-19 and third time reaccredited with ISA 2020-2023. Therefore we always try to include creative activities to keep the students internationally aware. The school is diverse in culture from around the 9 surrounding districts, all having their own uniqueness.

We highly prefer volunteers to stay for at least one month.

I am a mother of two kids; one daughter in high-school and one son is doing his Masters in Kathmandu University. And my husband, Deepak, also living with us, is Managing school as a Director. He is deeply inclined to spiritual practice and meditates daily.

We have an organic garden where we grow cilantro, radish, cauliflower, and others. We also have 2 mango tress, and a few dogs, our beautiful German Shepard Julia and Golden Retriever and Japanese Spitz cross dog Murphy.
Specifically, we are looking for workawayers that are proficient in English speaking and are motivated to make a difference within our community and education systems. Ideally you will have some teaching experience or training but this is not compulsory,

Another opportunity i need help with is teaching English in the nearby community school. This is a fully government funded school for poverty children. Most of the students here come from very underprivileged families. I need support to educate and motivate the students in order to create future opportunities. Many students struggle to see a solid future with career opportunities with the offered level of education. This often leads to discontinuing their studies and falling into bad associations and crimes, we would like to change this.
My mother is a current teacher at the school and belongs to the same community creating a high concern for children's future. She has experienced the loss of her only son through the participating factors of lower education levels and association with the wrong people and events. My mothers aim in life is to provide a decent learning foundation so the students can become motivated to do better, go further and distract them from wrong direction. Not only will you have the opportunity to teach in the school, but we need help to initiate non profit programs for sustainable improvement in living circumstances and life choices within the community.

Lastly, I also have an opportunity for those who are willing to help educate students through evening programs who are looking for education abroad or a better career. Students can range from 16 years old, looking to further their university education over seas to adult years whom are looking to find better careers or learn the base foundation of English in order to create a better lifestyle. These evening programs are currently in the planning stage, and i have many exciting ideas, but i need your help to implement them and get the ball rolling.

Dhangadhi is in perfect spot for sight seeing. It is within short reach from many amazing experiences such as:
The longest suspension bridge in Nepal, the largest swampy area in south Asia, a wildlife conservation area, a national park, breathtaking virgin mountains, to name a few. There is a nearby bus station about a 10 minute walk from the school.
Previous guests have really enjoyed visiting a nearby Tharu village, experiencing many aspects of their culture, riding around on a bullcart, relaxing in between two lakes and catching a glimpse of monkeys jumping about in the trees. The mountainous area about an hour away is also a favorite and since its beauty is preserved and unique, it offers an entirely different experience from the mountains in the more touristic areas and is home to a plethora of different species of birds and plants.
My daughter is very outgoing and loves new guests, previous volunteers always seem to find her amusing.
A few smaller activities which volunteers can do is playing Table Tennis on the school grounds, learning Nepali language or cuisine, or meditating at a nearby Osho Taboban, to name a few.
