Because of the Covid restrictions where I live, I can only take guests already in the UK, at the moment. I hope this will change later in 2021 and will be keen to resume fully as a host when its legal and safe to do so.
Workaways should also make sure they meet the new UK visa requirements detailed on the general Workaway information..
If you'd appreciate some solitary time, away from the rat race, maybe this could be for you!
I am a retired teacher with a love of the countryside, my animals, wildlife, cycling, art, music and dancing. I live in the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds in a tiny cottage, in the hamlet of Miningsby on the Revesby Estate. It's very rural and rather isolated. No shops within walking distance, but with pretty market towns just 10 minutes' drive away. Our nearest train station is in Boston, which can be reached via either Grantham or Peterborough from most towns with nearby airports.
This will be a cultural exchange, where assistance with grassland, horse care and gardening, domestic and DIY tasks is exchanged for accommodation and meals and an experience of English rural life.
Lovely countryside walks, bird watching, cycling and possibly horse riding. Flexible hours of help and expectations of cheerful company! I go out almost every night in normal times, but this is somewhat restricted due to Covid, so you will have to cope with rural isolation!
Accommodation is in the cottage (double sofabed in the spare room), but with occasional nights in the cabin the garden if I have friends staying.
Access to reasonably reliable mobile wifi, but with extremely limited data allowance.
My career as a specialist teacher means that I have an in depth knowledge of the English language and how to teach not only vocabulary but grammar and different styles of written expression, which could be handy for students of English. I am familiar with the Cambridge exams in English.
