Description
Hello! We’re a lively family of four, originally from England now live in beautiful Piedmont Italy, in the Roero/ Monferrato area, home of great wine and the slow food movement. Four years ago we moved here for an exciting renovation project. We have two gorgeous girls ages 8 and 10 and also have a playful young pointer cross dog who loves to join us wherever we go. We are thriving in our new environment having more time outside in nature and exploring new places. The females of the family are all bilingual and James is working on it, so at home we speak English mostly.
Having already transformed the barn into a beautiful rentable space we now have the challenging prospect of making our farm house, (building site) into our home. Building work is underway and James, an eco builder in England works incredibly hard but doing it alone is a mammoth task!
We would so love some extra hands to help with the tasks of this project we have taken on, not only in the house but also with the small woodland area which is in need of some TLC, as well as some creative ideas for making it a beautiful space for the children and us. We like meeting new people and enjoy sharing our space and to work collaboratively would be great. James can teach you new skills should you wish to learn about building and generally what it is like to do a project like this.
Join us as we embrace the joys of family life and the thrill of adventure in our Italian paradise!Types of help and learning opportunities

Our home is surrounded by picturesque vineyards and local wineries, perfect for weekend explorations. We love to explore the beautiful surrounding areas, build cosy fires, and enjoy BBQs in the woods. In winter, you’ll find us hitting the slopes for some skiing and snowboarding, while summer days might be spent going to the lake for some swimming or planning our next travel escapade abroad. We met in a meditation group over ten years ago and both still practice and I try and do some yoga every day.
You will receive culinary Exchange, I love learning about different cuisines and would be delighted to share recipes or for you to show me anything new. It’s a great way to bond and experience new flavours!
Living with us means becoming part of our adventure in this peaceful area a picturesque setting. If you’re looking for a warm, welcoming environment to grow, learn, and create unforgettable memories, we can’t wait to meet you!Projects involving children

We offer your own camper, a personal space for you with a kitchenette and small bathroom. The kitchen has two gas hobs and a fridge and ice compartment. There is a double bed for you to sleep on and we will provide the bed linen, there is also a heater in there for winter months. There is a table and bench seats either side. You will be welcome to use our shower inside the house as it may be preferable and more spacious, but the camper does have a WC and a basin for your use. We will provide homecooked food for you, you are welcome to join us for meals if you wish or take them to your camper if you prefer to have some time alone. We are very happy for you to do as you please. There is internet access in the camper so you can work there if you need to.
We also have a large field that has lovely views and sometimes when it’s clear a good view of the mountains. What else ...
There are many beautiful walks if you are interested in being outdoors and in nature. We are very close to Govone which has a beautiful Castle which comes to life at Christmas with the little christmas markets in and around it. We are 20-25 mins away from the beautiful cities of Alba where the international truffle fair is held, and Asti, and there is also a cheap train that can take you in to Turin in under an hour. However we do also have bikes that you are welcome to use to get into our closest town which would be 15minutes to cycle or half an hour to walk, there you can find all types of shops, bars/cafe's and small supermarkets. There are also many other beautiful hilltop towns to explore nearby or wineries to try local delicious wine of the Moferrato Roero area.
